Things I’ve learned in 2016
1. Things don’t always go as planned.
As a matter of fact, nothing ever goes as planned, not in 2016, anyway. Here’ s to hoping 2017 will be better!
Frienship is universal. When you are on the same wavelength with someone, it doesn’t matter where you two come from or what your cultural background is. When someone gets you, she gets you. I’ve made some wonderful friends this year. Hands down one of the best parts of 2016.
3. There would come a time I didn’t want to see a new Batman movie
I blame Ben Affleck for this! (And I might be forever bitter about it)
4. Men with beards can be hot
…Like really hot ↓↓↓ Having lived so long and this came as a surprise to me. (And this guy used to be too much of a pretty boy for my taste...)
5. There’s nothing more beautiful than unspoiled nature
I’m an urban dweller, but I’m also a product of my culture. Been taught from early on that one must respect the nature. I don’t always remember to appreciate the beautiful and diverse nature around me because I take it for granted. But then I go to nature conservation area or National Park for a hike and it hits me: WOW, there are people who can never experience this kind of nature, don’t ever forget how important this is. Next year I plan to visit at least six National Parks. Luckily one of the newer ones is only short bike ride away from my home.
6. There’s always a good TV show, old or new, that’ll make you fall off your chair time after time.
Hang on to them when there is a crappy show on TV!
7. Remember to appreciate the little things
Life can be hectic. Just try to appreciate the little things; tube is pretty much always on schedule, I got my favorite yoghurt from the store, my new shoes are awesome, God I just love chocolate!
It’ll be a lot easier, if you don’t stress over things you can’t influence.
9. 2017 is just around the corner
