there was no excuse for this. one time was acceptable. one time was perfectly fine with him. at least, it was in retrospect, because at the time he had been furious. the second time was even okay. but three times? three times was a pattern, three times was on purpose, three times was a door-slamming fight that had will taking a train to baker street to get away from his girlfriend-stealing sister. how she kept doing it was beyond him. how he kept dating girls that turned out to also like girls was also beyond him. in any case, he had left hours ago, eager to busy himself with experiments to get his mind off of another lost love. he couldn’t very well do that with people around, so the moment the door opened, he responds with anger lacing his voice.
“ go away. i don’t need comforting. i need ellie to frick out of my love life. ”
he thought it would be sherlock or his mom or even mrs. hudson. but no, it had to be ellie. of course it was. it always was.

ellie leaned against the banister of the doorway that separated the kitchen & living room of 221B BAKER STREET. it was her father’s old apartment, which had become more of an office space since will & her had come along. they’d spend weekends here sometimes when they were younger or come into the city to visit with mrs. hudson ( who ellie had affectionately had referred to as NANA since she could speak ). as the two of them got older & were allowed to travel more on their own, will & ellie had begun using the baker street as their little hideout when they were angry & just wanted to get away.
