Hetalia: Axis Powers Anthology comic announced
The official Comic Birz twitter account has announced that a Hetalia: Axis Powers Anthology is slated for release on November 24, 2017 by Gentosha.
The cover (preview seen above) will be drawn by Himaruya, with the following artists announced as contributors:
亜沙美： 青い鳥文庫「若おかみは小学生！」/ITAN「２まいめ」試し読み
揚立しの： デンシバーズ「ご飯つくりすぎ子と完食系男子」
桑田乃梨子： まんがライフWIN 「だめっこどうぶつ」
祀木 円： pixiv ITANコミック「トウキョウ・D」
One of the artists, Seyoshi Toriya ( 鳥屋 ) has posted a preview of their comic to their twitter account and mentioned that Germany and Italy, along with Prussia, France, and Japan, would be featured.
As of this posting, the anthology, much like the series it is based on, seems to consist of gag comics. Allusions to the contents of the other comics have been alluded to by some of the other featured artists on their respective twitters.
This is not the first time Himaruya has participated in an anthology work. Prior to the licensing of Hetalia by Gentosha in 2007, Himaruya contributed illustrations to two doujinshi event anthologies, Get the World!! Kitayume Anthology Hetalian and The World of Hetalia Exhibition Commemoration Anthology: Premium. In 2014, he illustrated the cover of an anthology comic for Aldnoah.Zero.
