Azusawa showed me a picture the other day of something called a 'yippee-creature', that had round, shiny eyes like these. While this isn't quite that, I believe that it is not too far off in the emotion it is trying to convey.

Expending the last of his already limited physically energy, Toya yanks the door to the rooftop open. He sees Akito turn to watch him out of the corner of his eye, catching it before it can slam against anything.

A-Ah.

He lets the door close gently on its own. Being careless in this situation wouldn't do the school administration any favours; they'd have to be working constantly to upkeep their standard... (He should really find a way to get in contact with them, or perhaps it'd be a job better suited to Naisai. It's just bad luck that she doesn't attend the same school.)

He walks over and sits beside his partner, trying to compose himself to the best of his ability.

Catching Akito's puzzled expression, Toya backtracks immediately. No, he'd told him he was relieved of library duty today...!

akito remains somewhat confused, but decides to let it slide. he doesn't have the brain power to spare trying to figure toya out at the moment. he let's out a yawn, must be more tired than he thought. though that wouldn't be too surprising, he had been out most of the night with the other rangers.

He stifles his sigh into a hum of reduced bitterness. At least this way, he'd be taking attention off of his own awkward entrance.

Akito, by chance... have you been practicing into the night?

It was a reasonable enough presumption. As of yesterday, he could cross cramming off the list of possible reasons for Akito's tiredness. There wouldn't be any more major exams for a long while.

akito is surprised by the question, though he really shouldn't be. he hadn't been hiding his tiredness too well. quickly catching himself he shakes off the surprise and scrambles to answer. trying to not seem suspicious he just goes along with the excuse toya practically handed him.
