“I know you, y’know.” Naruto lets his hand slide from his cheek towards his neck. He’s whispering and his breath softly hits Sasuke’s skin. “I know you don’t do things casually— everything you do, you do completely. Fiercely, I guess. I think, shit, I just think you’re great.” 

Oh. He… he had not thought about it like that. He had thought himself stubborn and uncompromising and perhaps hard to deal with. He blinks at Naruto and ignores his beating heart. 

Naruto doesn’t seem to mind his silence. Nor is he against wearing his heart of his sleeve even more than he already has — against embarrassing him even more — as he whispers: “It makes me feel special.” 

Naruto tries to set up a date between Iruka and his favourite (great, kind, and pretty good looking for an old dude) teacher.

“Cat got your tongue?” He knows he’s pushed Naruto with a weapon Naruto likes using all too much; words. Pushed him far enough for the Kyuubi to take over and for himself to be — hot, bothered, half hard. Fuck. “That upset about Orochimaru owning me but you can’t admit wanting the same yourself?”

He didn’t like the idea of someone coming to read Christmas stories at the children's section of the library. He liked children, contrary to what most people thought, especially when they were caught up in a book. He just didn’t like… loud noises. 

And this guy is just that. Loud.

He had seen the guy come in not-quite-late, put on a stupid looking Christmas hat and — when the first children had sat down — he’d started reading the first story excitedly. 

And, Lan Zhan— Lan Zhan did not like loudness. Yet his heart skipped a beat at the sight.
