And what if it’s not wildly known, but it isn’t unknown either?

What if, at the very beginning of TB’s travels with the Express, Dan Heng walked in on them partially naked and saw the mark? Of course, TB wouldn’t mind because they didn’t remember what that mark meant. And of course, Dan Heng, living in the damned archives of the universe, would immediately recognise the mark.

What if he brought it up with the rest of the Express, away from TB? They are travelling with a Stellaron Hunter and they could be deceiving them. Only pretending to not remember anything. And what if, they collectively decided to keep them on board and just keep an eye on them? Try and see if they really don’t remember anything or if they have some nefarious intentions. And in the end, they decided that they all had a past they wanted to leave behind and TB might not be any different. And who cares if they are only pretending? They took the oath of the Trailblaze and, by all accounts, they seem dead set to stick to it.

What if, when TB’s memories came back on Amphoreus, they pretended they were perfectly fine just to isolate themselves. What if Dan Heng, who knows them more than anyone at this points, recognised the signs and decided to follow them. What if he found TB crying, hyperventilating and trying to aggressively rub that damned mark off their body? Because, no, there was no way they were one of them! And even if they were, why would they still want to be associated with them? They abandoned them! They were left completely alone, in an unknown place, with only their name and their clothes. Like, what the fuck?! And they were supposed to be family?!

What if Dan Heng saw the blood starting to pour out after all the rubbing and stopped TB from hurting themselves further? What if he held them and reassured that they have known for a long time and TB was still a Trailblazer. There was no changing that. And it was okay. Everything would be okay.

We weren’t told what we looked like after the accident, just that we didn’t look alive. So maybe our eyes were open, staring into space, very much dead. Or maybe blood was coming out of our mouth. And obviously we weren’t breathing (tho I still don’t trust someone willing to do CPR on a breathing, sitting person to tell wether we ARE breathing or not).

I think that he saw TB fly off into the abyss, falling to certain death and Dan Heng didn’t see the fall, he saw the blood and the dead eyes and the no breathing and the flames and rubbles surrounding them.

I think Dan Heng saw his dead body and knew there wouldn’t be another Amphoreus. There wouldn’t be another Thanatos. There wouldn’t be a second chance of bringing him back to life.
