I caught a cold so why not induce my nose into early retirement xD ?
... Aka my attempt at relieving some congestion and making the most pathetic-sounding wav in the process- enjoy~?
CW :
Sneezing (lmao)
Coughing (several times)
Hoarse voice
Sniffling
Hitching (very vocal, desperate and kinda weird-sounding?)
Whimpering
Inducing with a tissue
Holdbacks
Stuck Sneeze
A Snot Rocket I'm so sorry
Over all cold sounds yeah
Be warned about the last audio file I choked on my own mess so don't listen to the last 30 sec or so if you're squeamish
or not, 😏 if you like gross things "hey~"
It's Day 3 of my cold and I'll definitely wait until my throat recovers before attempting to induce again tbh, I'm honestly surprised I can still talk lmao. God I wish I had someone to comfort me while I'm being disgusting like that xD Anyways, I hope you guys will enjoy those 10 minutes of me torturing my poor nose xD
a person sick with something bad out in public. their nose is bright red, stuffed tight, and dripping, and the abuse coupled with the virus making them feel miserable has led to it being so sensitive to the point where it almost seems like they should be in bed just for the amount of time they have to spend tending to it. they rub and pinch and grab trying to scratch the itches when they come up, but their nostrils still twitch and flare as they grab for the packet of tissues in their pocket, sometimes making it in time, sometimes not. as the day progresses the soft membranes of their inner nose become increasingly swollen and sensitive, until they accidentally inhale some dust and spend several minutes with a wad of tissues in their hand, hitching and heaving, eyes fluttering and watering, their incredibly tender nose wrinkling and twitching as they try to fight it off, until they can’t hold it back anymore and they explode, letting out a little stuffy groan at the force of the messy sneeze pulling at their sore throat on it’s way out.
by evening it’s gotten bad enough that they’re huddled in a chair in the doctors’ office waiting room. they tried to wear the flu mask, but their poor nose couldn’t handle the abrasion, resulting in a couple sneezes so thick and heavy that it catches the attention of a couple other patients. they hold a wad of tissues against their nostrils until they’re called. when the doctor comes, they look in their ears and throat and then attempt to use the otoscope to look up their nose; just as they get a visual of the membranes looking swollen and incredibly tender up to the sinuses, and the infected mucus slowly working it’s way down to the edge of their chapped nostrils, the flashlight brushes a couple nose hairs and the entire structure starts to twitch and convulse, the person’s mouth dropping open into a hitch with a tiny stuffy groan of warning. the doctor gets out in time for them to explode like they did in the waiting room, except now all over themselves.
the doctor hands them the exam room tissue box as they mumble a tired apology, then sends them home with the diagnosis of a particularly nasty head cold, warning them that, by the looks of it, it’ll morph into a full blown sinus infection if they don’t take a couple days to stay in bed and rest.

Anna wasn't a germaphobe, and she certainly wasn't careful about staying healthy. When one of her friends was sick, she didn't bother being close to them, sharing food or drinks, studying from a few inches away, or hugging them. This had obviously boosted her immune defenses since she was little, but by February, her antibodies were exhausted, and by that time, everyone had something from a simple sore throat to bronchitis.
She had been studying in the house of a friend of her at the beginning of what was about to become a terrible flu, with her blows starting to thicken, consonants starting to sound nasal, and coughs that were starting to become less dry and more wet. After getting at least one sneeze and a couple of coughs in her face and sharing a cup of tea, Anna returned home and had just enough time to feel a slight sore throat before falling asleep.
The past three days had been the descent into hell of the worst flu she'd had in years. By day 1, she had to buy a generous supply of tissues; by day 2, she'd stopped breathing through her nose and her cough had firmly settled into her chest; and now it was day 3, and she was heading to the library to study for a big exam.
To call her completely blocked would be an understatement: it was 9:30, and as soon as she woke up, she'd immediately tried to blow her nose, but nothing had moved, neither in her nose nor in her chest, which felt really heavy today. But as she rode her bike, the rush of air unblocked both her nostrils, or rather loosened the compactness of her snot, and now she had to fight with all her strength to keep it from running down her face.
Entering the building, she was met with the extremely hot air inside, which immediately blocked her nose again, a welcome sight. She climbed the stairs and took up her usual spot, next to the radiator. She removed her books and a half-empty tissue pack from her backpack. She looked around and noticed used tissues on every table, red noses, and scarves around necks: the healthy were in the minority, she thought with a smile, and began to study.
About forty minutes had passed when she decided to go get a tea from the vending machine to warm up. She saw her reflection in the glass: bags under her eyes, greasy hair, chapped lips from breathing only through her mouth. At least her big nose was feeling a little better today, having not tortured it yet. She sat back down, sipping her tea, and held the warm cup to her chest to try to ease some of the congestion.
She was afraid of triggering a cough, which had been terrible the day before, but the heaviness in her lungs was too uncomfortable; she knew they must be really full. A friend of hers arrived with a tissue in her hand and red nostrils. "Hey, Adda, how's studyihg goihg?" She tried to speak and realized it was her first sentence of the day, and what came out was so hoarse and low that she couldn't understand anything. She cleared her throat loudly, but the phlegm that had accumulated all night remained. Embarrassed, she nodded yes with a thumbs-up, giving up on speaking for the moment. Her friend laughed: "Dod't worry, we're all feelihg worse. I thihk I've filled a whole basket with tissues sidce I've beed here."
Her friend left, and Anna tried to clear her throat, and with that cough, she managed to stir up some phlegm in her chest with a wet rattle that made several people turn around. Anna blushed; it sounded worse than she thought; there was so much phlegm that the coughing had further clogged her throat. She ran to the bathroom, holding back her cough, and once inside, she let out two crunchy, productive coughs that brought a thick mass of slime into her mouth. She spat it out disgusted into the sink and saw that it was greenish and sticky like her snot. "All the stuff I have in my nose, I also have here in my chest," she thought, and turned on the water to wash away the mush. As she sat back down, she noticed a boy who had been in the same place the day before, watching her, trying not to be seen.
He was cute, and she worried about the terrible state she was in, definitely the opposite of what an attractive girl supposedly should be: definitely not full of snot like she was. She felt she couldn't help but blow her nose anymore, and tried to do it as quietly as possible: with the first blow, a disgusting sound of gurgling slime came out. Now she was redder than ever, yet the day before, she thought, it hadn't been this disgusting, and she had to stop because that side of the tissue was already full. She folded it, feeling all the warm mass sticking inside, and saw for a moment that the boy was agitated. "That's embarrassing, now I'm going to disgust him." She wanted to stop blowing her nose, but it had just started to empty, and the sensation was too pleasant. She blew again with the other nostril, and now the tissue was warm and damp in her hands. She passed it under her snotty nose and then placed it on the table. She sniffed wetly and let out a slight cough, but it was pure phlegm. She still couldn't breathe through one nostril, but she felt much lighter. She got up to throw away the tissue and other waste paper and found a nearby trash can where she threw it all. She sat back down, and less than 30 seconds later, the guy stood up and walked toward the trash can, which was covered by a shelf.
"No, impossible," she thought, but she got up to follow him. She saw him go to a hidden corner and in his hand... yes, it was her used tissue. She reached him and cleared her throat to try to speak. He jumped and almost fell to the ground. "Why did you take by tissue?"
The guy blushed but didn't answer. "It's full of sdot." "I know... I heard you." Anna was confused, she coughed into her elbow, another disgustingly wet sound, and again that look in the guy's eyes. "Are you sobe kihd of fetishist?" The guy nodded, worried. "That's weird, what do you waht to do with by tissue?" And he: "Look inside..." "Oped it theh, if you waht." He opened it with two fingers, and inside immediately appeared the thick mass that Anna had just poured into it. It was unthinkable that all that gunk was inside her nose. The guy was astonished. Anna: Is it beautiful? He: I've never seen so much snot in a tissue. She: welcobe to by curreht life... SDRKK and she sniffed loudly to emphasize her point. He: Sorry, I don't mean to scare you, really. Anna: Doh't worry, I've seed a lot of weird stuff arouhd, ahd you're dot the worst. So you were lookihg at be because I'b a free sdot factory? And he immediately: No! You're very beautiful, and in my opinion, there's nothing more flattering than a red nose and eyebags on a pretty girl. She: Ab I attractive like that... SDRGK... sdotty? He: Very, and I love your nose.
They were definitely the most absurd compliments she'd ever received, but it made her feel strangely good to know she was appreciated despite her terrible appearance. "Thahk you...?" He: You're welcome. Anna: Adyway, by dabe is Adda, ahd you cad keep that if you waht. I cad give you bore... SNNRKK... And he: that would be fantastic.
Started taking a glp1 analogue today (prescribed by doctors and being careful) and I feel so sick. I got home from class and can't get out of bed and I have so much to do
Things that happened this week that could have been in a snzfic
1. I was at my friend's house on friday and definitely catching a cold, I was sneezing nonstop and at one moment I (while making dinner) said "don't worry, I'm covering my sneezes and won't give you this cold." To which she replied "it'd be an honour to catch a cold from you"
2. I was in class today and we had one of those ice breakers before actual class and we had to hold hands, so I said "sorry, i won't hold hands with anyone because mine are full of germs" (i had been coughing into my hands all morning and didn't have sanitiser) and the two friends who were next to me said it was fine and another friend looked at me and said "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger"
3. The same people + 2 more hugged me even though I told them not to because I'm sick (my friends and I don't know the concept of personal space, as you can see, and we're really affectionate)
I feel like I'll be patient 0 of a summer cold epidemic at Uni
4. Had to stay up till now (it's ten to 1am) to finish a report that I should have written yesterday but didn't because I was too sick so I'll probably be feeling awful tomorrow

So, I forgot to post this one. It was recorded on the worst day of the congestion. Warning (or tease??) for mentions of snot and lots of sniffles. Also contains sneezes, whining about cold symptoms, hitchy buildups, a bit of swearing. Me continuing to suffer.
Minors DNI, all ageless blogs interacting will be blocked.
been in a HUGE polyamory mood with writing stuff over the past couple days and I’m wibbling ABOUT:
Partner A having a damp, drippy, all around TRAGIC cold. They tend to get a little bleary and out of it when they’re under the weather and are currently being thoroughly pathetic. B has definitely caught this cold, but they’re more reserved and prefer to keep going as if all is normal, even though they’re feeling worse as the day goes on.
Now, C is a doting type (who fucks a sneeze, let’s be real) and SO wants to take care of their partners. A is too sleepy and snuffly to reject any caretaking, but B is pretty insistent that they don’t want anyone taking care of them. So C is tending to A, bringing tissues and cough medicine and just cuddling them close for naps on the couch. B has been doing their own thing as their sneezing gets harsher and their fever spikes. They WANT to just keep grinning and bearing it, but…C’s attention is looking VERY desirable right now. All those warm touches and kisses to the temple and…
So, the evening ends with C getting A and B all bundled up and taken care of. A and B are complete sneezing wrecks by this point. C is just loving the hell out of the both of them, checking temperatures and tucking way too many blankets around them and blessing sneeze after sneeze. A and B are totally collapsed on each other on the couch, but soon the three of them will head to bed to make a joyous sneezefucker sandwich, THE END
This has been sitting on my drafts for almost a year

No snz, apparently?
"Reg?" Regulus opens his eyes slowly and sees James staring at him. "You skipped Anatomy today."
"I did, yeah," he croaks. His voice is hoarse and his consonants are rounded by congestion. He tries to take a deep breath, but ends up coughing. "Didn't feel like infecting the whole campus."
His chest is heavy and his sinuses are hurting like hell, he feels way worse than he did the night before. He knows he should have told someone that he was coming down with something, but he didn't want people to worry.
But James always does. Regulus should have known James would come looking for him, especially because he skipped Anatomy and Public Health, he never skips those.
"A cold, then?"
Regulus nods. "A heavy and brutal one, yeah... And probably a sinus infection as well."
James comes closer and caresses his cheek. "You should have texted me, I'd have come prepared."
"I didn't want you to worry. Besides, you'd tell Sirius, and he'd tell Remus and Peter, and Peter would tell Barty and Evan... It would be a mess, they'd all want to come here and I'd be like the patient 0 of an epidemic."
James laughs. "I think you're being dramatic, and I'm pretty sure this bug started with Pandora. She was coughing her lungs off last week and you didn't leave her side."
Regulus sighs. "You're right, I should have been more careful." While he's talking, James climbs into bed with him, sitting cross-legged in front of his face. "What the hell?"
"You don't look like you have a fever."
"I always run low, if I'm past 37°C it's probably already the start of a fever. But I don't think I have one right now. What are you doing here, James? I gave you proof of life, you can go."
"And leave my best friend's baby brother alone when he's feeling miserable? I don't think so."
Best friend's baby brother. Of course, that's all he is for James. Nothing more than his best friend's brother. Baby brother, just because he's 23 and not 25. Is two years really that much?
"I'm an adult, not a baby. I can take care of myself."
"You know what I mean, Reg," James says gently, coming closer. "You don't seem great and I don't have anything else to do today. Mid-terms are over."
Regulus nods, knowing that arguing would be pointless. "And how, pray tell, do you intend to keep me company without infecting yourself? This is an awful bug, you really don't want it."
James shrugs. "I don't mind, you're the priority now. Your face looks swollen."
"It feels like my sinuses are filled with concrete, blowing my nose won't help, my body hurts, my face and head are about to explode, I can't sneeze for the life of me but my nose itches so much. Not to mention this fucking endless cough..."
Deep down, all Regulus wants is to be pampered and taken care of. Especially by James. So he doesn't hold back or hide any symptoms, he tells his crush everything he's feeling.
"That's unfortunate... Do you have honey and lemon?"
"In the shared kitchen."
"Alright, love, I'll be right back."
Love... That's a new one. Regulus waits for James, not getting out of bed. He trusts him enough to know the dorm won't catch fire. After about 15 minutes, James gets into Regulus' bedroom again, holding a bottle of something.
"It's my mum's sacred cough syrup. I noticed you have star anise and clover, so it's perfect. Open up, love, I'll give you a spoonful of it."
Regulus sighs, but obliges anyway. It tastes nice, nothing like he thought it would. It's sweet and sour, with a hint of spices.
"Just give it a couple of minutes and you'll stop coughing."
"I hope so, my abdomen hurts from coughing so much..."
James comes closer and brushes his cheek. "I'm sorry you're feeling so awful, Reggie. I just wish you had told me before, I'd drop everything to take care of you."
He blushes instantly. "I didn't think it'd get this bad, normally colds just give me a stuffy nose."
James frowns. "Why do you think it's different this time?"
He sighs. "Uni has been taking its toll on me. All those all-nighters to study for mid-terms weren't the smartest idea, and the way I ate exclusively fast food for a week didn't help either... I'd kill for some homemade soup right now."
"Say nothing more, my dear Reggie. I'll make you the best chicken soup you've ever had."
"You don't have to! It's fine! I'll just sleep until it's over."
"What? No. I'll make you soup of you want soup. Anything for you." Regulus tries to say something, but ends up letting out a rattling cough instead. "That settles it, love, I'm making you soup. Can I use your kitchen?"
"Go ahead," he says, breathless from the coughing. "Just make sure not to burn the apartment down."
James is gone for about 20 minutes, then comes back with a nice grin stamped on his face. "Just let it simmer now, about half an hour and it'll be ready."
Regulus just stares at him for a while, preoccupied with a tickle in his nose. When he loses the sneeze yet again, he curses, then replies. "Thank you, Jamie. I didn't know you could cook."
"My mum made me learn it, it's quite a useful skill... Tell me, now, how are you really feeling? You tend to hide things from me."
"I'm feeling awful," he sighs. "My back and chest are hurting, my body aches, I have a stiff neck and a headache. Not to mention this cough from hell and the itchiness in my nose. I'm a total mess right now and you're here."
"So what if I'm here?"
"You'll catch it."
"So what if I catch it?"
"James," he sighs again, clearing his throat. "Just... you do understand I love you, don't you? And you're seeing me like this? Do you understand how degrading it feels?"
James smiles softly. "Regulus, love, that's exactly why I'm here. I love you, too, and I want to take care of you, okay? I'll get the soup now and then we can cuddle, yeah?"
