I’m so incredibly normal, trust me. You can give me the knife, I promise I won’t write angst with it (Submit an ask please please please I swear I got my rabies shot)
Welcome to my mildly shady alleyway! As an introduction, I am a fanfic writer on ao3 (username: NonExistent19), and on here I usually post head canons or updates on my current WIP. I will warn you that I usually hyper fixate on one character for a while before burning out, so don't get too comfortable with me being active.
If you want to make anything about my fanfics, feel free to do so! The only things I require are a tag so I can see it and a source credit.
Current Fixation: Percy Jackson, particularly Annabeth Chase
List of all my AUs, categorized by fandom, and what main tags I would put if it was a fic.

No marks means it's nothing but a little drabble (300-700 words) I word vomited so far. If you want to pick any of the none marked drabbles, go right ahead. Honestly, you don't even have to credit me as long as I get tagged so I can read it. If you want to know more about any of them then ask

big owl eyed annabeth studying percy curiously bc its been decades since a demigod child of poseidon has been born and there’s oddities about him that differ him from the other demigods at camp. he’s like her guinea pig (pun intended atp) that she likes experimenting on. she finds him hiding out in a tree for some alone time and she climbs up quietly beside him until he notices her and freaks out, almost falling from that height before catching himself, but she just pushes him off and looks over to study him groaning on the ground, winded and gasping for breath. she takes notes in a notebook. he is SO annoyed. she hasn’t had this much mental stimulation in a while. she’s having the time of her life.
she loved his gateway arch trick. fell from 600+ feet and only healed? no injuries? she jotted that down in her notebook the second she saw him climb out of the river. once they became friends, she DID sit him down in the infirmary and dosed him with various poisons and venoms just to see how his body reacted to it and how long it took to kill him. she also fed him loads and loads of nectar and ambrosia and took his temperature consistently to see how much he could consume before burning up. she’s used a regular steel blade on him and timed how long it took the wound to start to heal itself compared to a regular demigod. he’s exasperated beyond belief but knows it’s better to go along with her plans rather than fight her on it. she’s getting her answers whether he likes it or not. its just the easy way or the hard way. this is the easy way.
wair im back. do you remember my percabeth as morticia and gomez post? yeah that but with frekak4freak percabeth. morticia’s “you were like some desperate howling demon. you frighten me. do it again.” SOOOOO FREAK4FREAK PERCABETH!!!!!! “i would die for her, i would kill for her. either way, what bliss.” FREAK4FREAK PERCABETH LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN!!!!!!!!! annabeth DOES tie him up to a spinning wheel to throw knives at him. he’s right where he wants to be. do NOT save him.
In the au where Annabeth was given the statue quest instead of Labyrinth, how did Annabeth/Reyna/Jason side-quest went? Like what did they face, how their friendship developed e.c.t? How is Percy's relationship with Reyna and Jason in this AU?
There's a lot of Annabeth going "oh boy my fond childhood memories" except it's her when she was on the street alone and scrambling away from monsters. Reyna (being raised on a magical island and placed in the background when compared to her sister and then pirates) and Jason (wolves. then being immediately socially isolated whether from being Jupiter's son or choosing the 5th legion) has not so normal social upbringing and respond to this by going "yeah me too, hey did you also experience negligence?"
They're a lot like that one meme where it's like "wow these two are weirdos thank god I'm the normal one here" and that is their collective thought process
But as for their quest, they're following in past Annabeth's footsteps. Guided by Annabeth lingering feelings and impressions they try to find the safe haven that she's sure is their destination. As camp Jupiter is right next to San Francisco, they head over there first. (Which brings up a lot of questions on how did no one find her considering she's a demigod and right there). Where they find someone that Annabeth reacts strongly to and through some breaking and entering they find out he's her father
Reyna and Annabeth bond over varying levels of shitty fathers and dogs. Both of them get sad when they realize the dog in her memory is dead. Don't worry they get happy after Reyna becomes Praetor as she gets Aurum and Argentum as a gift from her mother. Afterwards they trace where Annabeth ran off and lived on the streets
Annabeth and Jason get their bonding moment as they both find out how they had to grow up at a young age. Learning things by themselves of with limited help and no (human) grown up to help. They bond more when Annabeth gets her memory back of becoming (unofficial) leader of camp at a young age
Jason and Reyna get some suspicion on who's her godly parent with Minerva giving the quest and Annabeth reliving her paranoia with spiders. But they dismiss it as Minerva doesn't have children. Their travel is mostly linear to Annabeth's life although it is broken up by quests coming to mind in different places. There's more tension nearing the end as Annabeth remembers "oh shit I'm Greek not Roman" but as she's quite literally leading them to camp + her mother gave this quest, she does tell them before getting to camp
As for the enemies they face, it's a lot of monsters as asleep Gaia is trying to stop them. She can't have that statue and camps reuniting before she even fully woke up after all. Another issue they face is a bunch of Titan army demigods. Especially when they find out that Annabeth has amnesia so Luke is set on bringing her back while Kronos is allowing it seeing how much control over Percy she has even unknowingly (+ seeing Percy crashout due to her being dead means he would have an advantage if he shows him that she's alive and uses that to bargain a deal with him still shocked)
Percy treats Jason and Reyna very neutrally. He does not like them. Sure he's incredibly grateful that they brought Annabeth back alive and saved her from falling into Tartarus. But he's uncomfortable with the fact that he doesn't know her like they do. Yeah he's the one who understands the pressure and trauma that the quests put on her. But she never told him details about her childhood, at least not the chunk with Luke in them
Reyna and Jason don't have a history with Luke like he does, at least not enough to immediately react negatively/disbelievingly to his name or actions. Percy also gives Fredrick grace since he had a loving mother who tried her best. He's familiar with physical abuse not emotional neglect (plus I don't think he really worked through the emotional abuse that Gabe put him through at this point even). Reyna sometimes does this too but she also understands how the neglect and pressure affected Annabeth.
They're privy to a part of Annabeth that he isn't. And it brings up a lot of his self worth issues as he sees this as her not needing him anymore. With Annabeth pouring her focus into the Greek-Roman alliance, it seems as if she's abandoning him for her shiny new friends. (As Reyna and Jason are their main point of contact due to being Praetor and having been at camp) Seeing how the Romans worship Jason for being a son of Jupiter also brings up buried feelings of Thalia's reappearance he never worked through
This leads to a lot of hot and cold from him as depending on his moods/feelings he can go from greeting them warmly to trying to pick a fight (go ocean temperament)

I know you haven't read Magnus Chase, but I was wondering about something. So according to timeline, Natalie died sometime and Magnus became homeless sometime around botl. Annabeth and Frederick didn't know about this for two years. Do you think something would have changed if they became aware of Magnus situation and he came to live with Frederick after Natalie's death?
At minimum, I think Annabeth now would have at least one supportive person and wouldn't feel so isolated.
You know what I think would be funny? He comes in as Luke is in the middle of trying to persuade Annabeth to run away with him. It's after Botl since I kinda doubt Annabeth and Fredrick could really be answering any phone calls during her kidnapping. It takes him a couple of months to make his way to their house. It's the last safe place he knows, the only uncle who hasn't tried killing him
He's roughed up and messy but surely they'd at least give him some help. So he's about to knock when the door slams open to an angry and mean looking adult storming out. Behind the guy he can see Annabeth shouting at Luke to leave and how could he ask her to run after apparently kidnapping her?? Alright. It seems that she didn't get an easy life either. Anyway he should make a good impression
So he punches the dude
...yeah the whole Annabeth and Luke conversation gets very messy with Magnus overhearing a bunch of things without context. A little while later, she sits him down with the mortal version of events. I do think Magnus's presence causes Annabeth to bounce between camp and her father's house instead of her completely going to camp for the war efforts. Magnus has 0 idea of any godly world at this point either so I don't think her or Fredrick would tell him anything (although with him staying in a single place, his other uncle would probably find him much faster. So his story gets speedrun)
So unfortunately I don't think Annabeth would completely confide in him due to all of the godly world stuff she'd have to juggle. Although I do think she'd talk about her complicated relationship with Luke after what he saw. And how Percy's action has been affecting her because that's a safe mortal concern as long as she fibs a little
Generally, Magnus actually gets the greatest impact as his uncle can track him down easier. Annabeth now has someone where she can confide some of her worries to, especially since the main person she does so has now become the reason for some. She does also understand Percy and gives him a little more grace now that she sees how someone (near their age) outside the war helps. (There could be a funny side plot where Percy gets jealous as she keeps worrying about Magnus due to Luke knowing about him + disliking him and forgets to explain that they're cousins)
this could be a weird question, but do you think people treat Nico Di Angelo better then they should? Like, comparing Nico having a crush on Percy to Rachel crushing on Percy, for one. To me, it feels like it’s just because Nico is a gay male (and yes he does have much more time in the books, I’m just saying)
People hate on Rachel SOOOOO much, and yet…. Basically nothing for Nico? Besides some in BoTL?
Mmm I see it as less that they're treating Nico (he's like really interesting past the grumpy and sunshine couple and emo dumbing down) better than he should and more that they're treating Rachel WAYYYY worse than she should be
I'll limit this to BOTL where they get close to the same build up ish since HOO does a lot more with Nico (rip Rachel you got sidelined the second you became Oracle). Their worst "crime" in this case is liking a single boy who came into their live in a heroic and novel way. There's nothing wrong with that. Of course we didn't get confirmation that Nico likes Percy at this point but still Rachel got more hate even as Nico sold Percy out for a bit
But honestly, I think I have to blame how their crushes were written. Rachel was an antagonist in the Percabeth love story (the main and widely adored couple in fandom) and, unfortunately, the Percy Jackson fandom are usually pretty horrible against ships that break up the popular ones. This resulted in a perfect environment to create wave of hate towards Rachel even if she didn't do anything wrong. Plus she didn't get more characterization other than rival for Annabeth, rich weird kid, and environmentalist. Then Oracle which Rick uses to sideline her forever
Plus Rick did the thing where he tries to make a very privileged kid show that their life is incredibly hard. Which can be done well but he's going two for two of not doing it very well. As Rachel wants her father to stop polluting but she's benefitting off his money and takes no direct action to stop him (that's shown in the book). And people do NOT like that (rip to Piper too for this you had such an interesting character set up)
There's another issue that the fandom tends to blame Rachel and Annabeth instead of Percy for making this situation in the first place. Although I wouldn't say he was wrong for trying to escape the war. It's more of how he handled the situation with the both of them. But god know that teenage relationships are messy as fuck so messy Perachabeth for the win
As for Nico, we don't get confirmation until everything is done. There was no perceived threat towards Percabeth as they were already together. It was a one sided crush on Nico's side and there wasn't any "oh but would Percy go for them" that Rachel had. It places him in more of a grey area where he's the sad pining boy. Enough where it makes him more of a uhhh victim? I don't want to use that word specifically but I don't have another word for it
Another thing is that he's blorbo material. He has a tragic backstory, falls into the emo/not like other kids/loner sterotype that was popular back then, overpowered/a big three kid, and now a rare LGBTQIA+ character in a published book. It gives him a lot of opportunities for people to relate to/project onto. Opportunities that Rachel just didn't have
annabeth dressing as a man to climb rank and become a warrior is taken in by a nobleman with no heirs and is trained and adopted by him and he marries her off to noblewoman rachel and annabeth makes excuse after excuse to rachel as to why they can’t actually be together yet because she's so focused on her career or something but really its because it would expose her as being a woman and rachel is fine with it because she doesn’t even know her new husband like that fr so their relationship stays platonic for a while and they slowly start to fall for one another until annabeth is like. damn. i’m lying to her.

I recently got into Magnus Chase series and I just realized how downright tragic Chase family is. There is so much death surrounding the family. Like, Randolph (Annabeth's and Magnus uncle) and Natalie (Magnus mom) is dead. Randolph's wife and daughters are dead. Even Magnus is technically dead. On top of that, Annabeth is in constant danger. I wouldn't be surprised if Annabeth, Magnus and Frederick thought that their family is cursed. (I would include Annabeth's half-brothers, but I feel like they are mostly unaffected as their ties to godly world are rather distant.)
Considering all of this canon information, the godly catnip au is essentially psychological horror. Imagine you are born in this family that has lot of death happening and there are literal monsters hunting you. You become homeless because of these monster attacks and discover it is because you are half human, half god.
You then have to face multiple quests on which the world's fate depends on and somehow survive despite odds. Somewhere along the way you notice that divine beings seem to be paying you more attention than it is normal. You think nothing about it until you get older. Where the attention should have started to wane, it only increases. It turns out your family has attracted godly attention for a long time.
I just described you average Annabeth and Magnus Chase experience in godly catnip au. They are so lucky they are them and can handle it. Having powerful significant other also helps. If they were any less formitable and single, it turns into horror story quickly. For they now have to manage God's attention and we know how that usually never ends well. (If you think about it, that may explain the high rates of death in Chase family)
But yeah, it is no wonder they often times felt cursed and doomed.
The Chase family on a family history tv show and the crowd progressively gets more horrified at each fact that's revealed
I can't believe that Fredrick's branch of the siblings survived. We got hired killer Randolph and wolf fighter/whatever the fuck went down on Thanksgiving Natalie. But history professor Fredrick is the one who gets away. I guess it's because he avoided the godly worlds like they were a plague. He heard them talking about swords and norse gods and ran outta there. Annabeth wasn't even his intention she just got dropped on his door step
Annabeth and Magnus setting a day between when their life got screwed over for them to meet at a bar and drink. They just complain about their family.
"...do you think we're cursed?"
"Honestly if we WEREN'T cursed I'd be more concerned."
Then there's godly catnip au where they were born in a family that was basically selectively bred to have the average of what the gods considered attractive. Yikes. And now you have to figure out what parts of you was made for the gods. (I find this mean but the Chase family are heavily prone to pick up a special interest that they'll keep forever to attract gods who have a domain surrounding it. As excelling people in their domains tend to catch their attention easier. For Fredrick it was history and Annabeth's is architecture. Idk about Magnus bc I haven't read his series)
There's monsters of multiple pantheons that could potentially sniff you out even if you aren't a direct demigod. Different Chase branches have wildly differing ways of raising their kids as they have to weigh the danger of being more noticeable due to knowing about the godly worlds or being unprepared if a monster does sniff them out. (Annabeth and Magnus are part of one that hides the existence) Lucky branches can go long enough without interacting with a godly world to fade from relvance
I'd still say that Magnus and Annabeth get the short end in possible endings. Cause they're already direct demigods AND they're heavily involved in world ending prophecies. They should get to meet different branches and find out they're the outliers even among other Chase demigods. Since their sample size is each other, they got a wildly skewed perception on what their lives are supposed to be
Nevermind that with their achievements they're considered more attractive in the gods' eyes. There's no winning for them. They're seeing their friends get less attention as they become more jaded against the gods' orders. They think they'll get the same treatment yet gifts and requests for meetings only seem to increase. Hands begin to linger longer on their shoulders and friendly touches seem to tighten. It's quite startling as they think of most of their pantheon gods as estranged family members
Nevermind when it starts to spread to other pantheons. They're finding out the existence of so many gods they never wanted to know about. At least at their relevancy and attractiveness has to come with enough strength/protection from their own pantheon for them to fend off their suitors. (As their reputation comes from, you know, saving the world)
Not being single for the win although that itself doesn't prevent much with gods who don't care about fidelity. It helps that their partners are strong in their own right. But yeah 85% of unexplainable disappearances (which make up for 70% of all Chase family deaths) in the Chase family can be directly linked to an attentive god. While 95% of deaths in general can be link to godly world bullshit from monsters to death battles for a godly item
What if additional reason (Aside for the main ones-percabeth and Silena) for Aphrodite ' attention towards Annabeth is that she is somewhat recent Aphrodite's or Venus legacy? It is plausable considering what we know about Chase family.
Silena cheering in Elysium once Annabeth digs out her family registry and finds an Aphrodite kid in it
I feel like it would be a Venus legacy since Aphrodite otherwise would've known semi quickly. So it would be like after Silena starts bringing her into her cabin when she figures it out. But like real awkward conversation one Olympus field trip
"Oh Annabeth! I'm so glad you've grown up so well. And I do see that you got my child's nose, how adorable."
"Uh, Lady Aphrodite, what do you mean your child's nose?"
"Mmm? I could've sworn i told you. No issue, your grandmother was one of my kids."
"Pardon?"
"Chiron must of told you about your family's mhm reputation has he not?"
