So naturally, this blog is going to deal with the topic of how we can climb better, do harder boulders problems, push the craziest maneuveurs in waves and how we rehabilitate after injuries. I recently read (again) a lot about how our brain can adapt to various situations and how it can learn movement. As we know, to get up that impossible boulder problem, movement adaption is crucial! Actually I often find it quite suprising why we climbers are talking all the time about how we can be stronger, crimp better, do more one finger pull-ups with weight vests, the list goes on and on. Well, in my opinion, If we ubderstood how our body and movement systems work, we would trash that and talk and learn how we can MOVE better! I watched this inspiring TED talk by Daniel Wolpert about why our brain is actually designed for movement. I recommend you to watch it, too. In the future, there will be more blog posts about this topic and how I adapt it into the work as PT with athletes and clients. So this is kind of the opening of the new movement essentials section in this blog. Welcome!
how to warm up those damn pulleys efficiently? Young talented climber Kim Marschner shows us how to do it and uses his Edelrid brush to get the blood flowing!
tight muscles and aching backs bye bye! At last weekends training of the German boulder and lead climbing team located @Boulderwelt Frankfurt we introduced foam rolling and self massage techniques to the athletes and coaches. As you can see in udinis pictures, it was also a lot of fun! Stay tuned to some examples of the exercises!
Welcome
