It’s Monday. Had I not a calendar, I would be able to tell by the half assed semi-damp bun on my head and the sunkissed red nose I am rocking after a Sunday at the lake and a lack of sunscreen on my face. Not a flattering look today but I do not regret that extra 30 that I snoozed. I made it back to reality by the skin of my teeth, and in my book that is a win. The AC pumps with a dull roar as I continue to drink my second cup of coffee. I’m itching for something but I have no clue what exactly that is.

It’s a weird time of year. Labor day has passed marking the last few days of summer and I find myself looking for some kind of shift. I’m dressing in layers and sweating while walking to my car after work, cooler mornings are totally throwing off my (lack of) wardrobe game. I’m looking for useless things in the most useless places - Youtube makeup tutorials, Target, my closet, my inbox, my notes. I continue to come up empty.

I need a little nip in the air and red in my cheeks from windburn and too much time spent next to a fire pit. I need to stop watching and reading creepy things before I do to bed. I need to figure out what I am going to be for Halloween. I need to get my eating and spending in check. I need to be outside and be active. I need to stop cooking buckets of pasta and eating it straight out of the Tupperware container, cold, for breakfast. I need to get out of my head. I need to stop thinking everyone is mad at me. I need things to be needed urgently at work to light a fire under my ass. I need to stay off Facebook. I need to use the right side of my brain. I need to stop focusing on what I think I need and just breathe and be present. However, I am impatient, stuck wandering and looking for the unnecessary, craving the fall.
