i always found aranea's character so interesting because her classpect as a sylph of light (the fixer / restorer of fortune for others) is categorically opposed to her behavior, where she is MORE than willing to use other people as pawns to advance her own ends, and almost all of her seemingly altruistic schemes have a personal silver lining of satisfying her narcissistic tendencies. It's such a fascinating instance of altruism almost solely for the rights to say she was the one to fix everything. Hence the Game Over timeline & such
Which is why I write her detesting her own altruistic tendencies when they don't serve that end, but she still partakes in them. The human (troll) heart in conflict with itself and whatnot.
