Nadia Petrova

DEAR DIARY;;

I’ve come to New Orleans with my mother. She’s dying and I have to fix that. I traveled far and wide to find her and I’m not giving up on her now. She will live, even if it’s in someone else’s body. 

Nadia was born to Katherine Pierce and an unknown man in 1490, when she was born, her mother so badly wanted to hold her, to keep her and raise her but she was a disgrace to the family so her father took away Nadia, and gave her away to a new family. When Katherine finally returned 8 years later, she couldn’t find her daughter and so she gave up. Nadia at the time was living with a family of travellers, something her mother had descended from but was forbidden to carry out their magic because of her father.

Nadia grew up as a traveller, learning their ways and gaining their trust. When she turned 22 she was turned by a stranger, after spending most of her life trying to track down her mother, she realised that she would need longer than a life time. She continued living and after 500 years she became a part of a travellers group that lead her straight to her mother. When she found Katherine, she hated her for abandoning her, wondering why she had never returned for her daughter but to keep her safe, she pretended to help Silas to kill her. She took Katherine and hid her from Silas, soon revealing that she was her daughter.

Nadia received mixed emotions from her mother about their reunion, in some ways Katherine seemed to be happy that they had found each other, however, she did not want people to know who she was, nor did she want to leave Mystic Falls with her daughter. Nadia stuck around for a while, hoping that she would change her mind and when she finally did, she expected nothing else than it to be for her own selfish reasons. Katherine asked for her help to find a way that she could live on so that she could rekindle her relationship with Stefan Salvatore.

Although slightly heartbroken, Nadia took the opportunity to spend time with Katherine and now hopes that they can learn more about each other during their time spent together. Their travels have lead them to New Orleans, a town where it just so happens that Stefan is too, now with Katherine’s attention fully on the young vampire, Nadia is left searching for a way to keep her alive, along with keeping safe from the brewing war that is stirring up in the beautiful city.

KATHERINE PIERCE

Nadia is Katherine’s long lost child that was born out of wedlock. After spending her entire life and entire vampire life searching for her, the pair was finally reunited in unfortunate circumstances. When all was revealed Katherine seemed happy to have her daughter back but continues to keep her a secret from everybody that is a part of her life now. Nadia hopes that their relationship can progress into a more loving relationship but with all that stands in the way, she can’t be sure whether she will get what she want.

MATT DONOVAN

Nadia met Matt in Europe when he was travelling the world with Rebekah, during the summer. The three of them spent days and nights together in the bedroom and one night, before they left, Nadia stole an item of jewellery from Rebekah and Matt’s Gilbert ring. She then followed Matt back to MysticFalls, claiming to be returning his ring only to place her boyfriend’s soul into Matt’s head.
