Michael Jackson would bring his ‘ Bad World Tour ’ to Wembley Stadium in London , England. Jackson’s concert would have a sold out crowd of 72,000 fans , including the Princess and Prince of Wales , Diana and Charles . However, Jackson pulled ‘ Dirty Diana ’ from the set list due to fears of offending Diana and the Royal Family. Therefore , Diana would say that it was her favorite song of his . In 2003 for ‘ Michael Jackson’s Private Home Movies ’, Jackson would say he wasn’t able to put ‘ Dirty Diana ’back into the set list for the show .

Before the concert , Jackson would meet with Diana and Charles backstage . Thus , he would donate $750,000 to The Prince’s Trust charity . He would also gift ‘ Bad ’ jackets to Diana as well as her sons , William and Harry . Diana would be seen wearing the jacket . Nevertheless , two would also form a friendship due to their interests for philanthropy and being scrutinized by the media. Diana’s death in 1997 would take a toll on Jackson . He would cancel his show in Belgium on the ‘ HIStory World Tour ’ , which would take place on the day of her funeral. He would say that he was too heartbroken and the world lost an angel.

As a part of ‘ Bad 25 ’ in 2012 , the Wembley show would be released on DVD. It would be featured in the box set and individually.

My Thoughts:

This has to be one of the most iconic concerts. I wish that I could’ve been there to see it in person . I also love Michael and Princess Diana as a duo as well. ‘ Another Part of Me ’ would be the sixth single released from Jackson’s 1987 album , ‘ Bad ’ . The song would be produced by Quincy Jones and co-produced by Jackson himself as well as written by him. The genre of the song would fall into the funk category . Originally, Jackson wanted ‘ Streetwalker ’ to be on ‘ Bad ’ instead of ‘ Another Part Of Me ’. While listening to the song , Frank DiLeo , Jackson’s manager , would start dancing to it after sitting the whole time listening to ‘ Streetwalker ’. Nevertheless, ‘ Another Part Of Me ’ was chosen to be on the album.

Therefore , before being released as a single on ‘ Bad ’ , the song would be featured in the 3D Disney Sci-Fi short film , ‘ Captain EO ’. Michael would have the lead role in the film . It would also be used in the trailer for the 1988 film , ‘ Moonwalker ’ , and in 1998 ’s ‘ Rush Hour ’ starring Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan . Tucker would be dancing to this song in a scene . It would also be used in a dance attack for the later versions of the ‘ Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker ’ video games and it was featured on ‘ Michael Jackson The Experience’.

There would also be a short film for ‘ Another Part of Me ’ . Jackson would be performing the song on his ‘ Bad World Tour ’ with Patrick Kelly directing . The video was featured on the ‘ Michael Jackson’s Vision ’ DVD and on the exclusive Target edition of the ‘ Bad 25 ’ DVD. For the ‘ Bad 25 ’ documentary in 2012 , which was directed by Spike Lee , another version of the video would be released.

‘ Another Part Of Me ’ is one of my favorite Michael Jackson songs . The first time I heard it , I was hooked. It’s super catchy and very fun . Every time it comes on when I’m listening to Michael, it will always put me in a good mood . - Kay

Michael Jackson would kick off his ‘ Dangerous ’ World Tour with the first show in Munich , Germany . The tour was to help promote his eighth album, ‘ Dangerous’. While touring in Europe, Jackson would allow MTV backstage to film six episodes of ‘The Dangerous Diaries ’ , a show that would take fans behind the scenes of the tour . Each episode would be fifteen minutes long. Snippets of performances of ‘ Black or White ’ and ‘ Billie Jean ’ would air on the show . The opening song to kick off the show was ‘ Jam ’ and the last song of the set was ‘ Man In The Mirror ’. Therefore , Jackson would be dressed in a black jacket with a sash and gold belts as accessories. He would bring this look back for the Tokyo dates.

The ‘ Dangerous ’ World Tour would end on November 11,1993 Mexico City , Mexico. A total of 70 shows would be played on this tour. 100 million dollars would be made from the tour , with all proceeds going to a variety of charities, including Jackson’s own ‘ Heal The World Foundation’. Over 3 million fans would attend the tour

It’s been a long 17 years without you. It doesn’t , nor will it ever be easier. All I can say is grief hits me hard every time this day and the month of June arrives. I wish that you were still here with us. You deserved so much better. You were taken way too soon and it will never be the same without you. While I am sad today , I will celebrate you and what you mean to me.

Thank you for always being there for me when no one else was. Every time I got my heart broken by someone , you were there to comfort me. Every time I was bullied and put down , it was you who picked me back up. You still do that. I listen to your music and watch videos of you. It helps me feel so much better and it feels like a hug. You’ll always be a shoulder to cry on when I need it . I also have photos of you in my phone. Even though I never knew you or saw you in person , I still know that you’re always in my heart .

There’s so much I admire about you , Angel Face. I admire your work and your creativity. I also love how you influenced so many people including myself .

I will help to continue carrying your message of loving others and healing the world . You are still loved to this very day , Michael. I promise you, you’ll never and I mean never be forgotten. I’ll fight for you always . You always did the same for me and other fans. I mean that. I am so sorry that you were treated horribly. It makes me so angry that people bullied you and still do.

Michael Jackson would release his ninth studio album , ‘ HIStory: Past , Present, And Future Book I ’ . HIStory would be often referred to as a double album due to featuring Jackson’s greatest hits such as ‘ Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough ’, ‘ Thriller ’ and ‘ Billie Jean ’. The album would also contain new songs such as ‘ Scream ’ , which featured his sister , Janet Jackson , ‘ Childhood ’, and ‘ You Are Not Alone ’. HIStory would also debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart , with ‘ You Are Not Alone ’ becoming the first song to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart , therefore , it would be Jackson’s final number one single in America. Artists such as Slash and the Notorious BIG would also be featured in the album . Basketball legend , Shaquille ‘ Shaq ’ O’Neill, would be featured on the album for the song , ‘ 2 Bad ’.

Jackson would also have several songs on HIStory that would be related to how the media would treat him and the 1993 allegations. The themes for HIStory would consist of greed , injustice , isolation, and environmentalism.

The album cover would show a Michael Jackson sculpture which would be 10 feet tall . He would be posing as if he was making his entrance for a concert. This sculpture would be created by sculptor, Diana Walczak in 1994. 10 statues would be placed around the world. The original statue would find a home at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas , Nevada in 2016.

The HIStory World Tour would help Jackson promote the album . It would begin on September 7, 1996 in Prague , Czech Republic, and end on October 15,1997 in Durban, South Africa. The only two US concert dates from the tour were in Hawaii as Jackson wouldn’t have stops in America. He would be the first artist to sell out Aloha Stadium.

My Thoughts :

I love this album. The album cover is what drew my eyes to it and hearing songs such as ‘ This Time Around ’ and ‘ DS ’ really showed me how he was feeling . My favorite song off of the album and all time favorite Michael song is , ‘ You Are Not Alone ’. I couldn’t tell you how many times that song and Michael himself has gotten me through heartbreak. I can say the same for ‘ Stranger In Moscow ’. What’s your favorite song from HIStory ?

Michael Jackson was found not guilty on all charges against him after a 14 week trial. The jury in the trial would find that the prosecution’s testimony was weak and untrustworthy. Therefore , the deliberation in the trial would take over 32 hours for over a week. Nine of the jurors chose to acquit Jackson as three would say he was guilty . The defense would have witnesses such as Debbie Rowe , Chris Tucker , George Lopez , and Jay Leno. Because of the trial , Michael would never return to Neverland Ranch.
