"I'm sorry, Eddie's doing what?" Buck stepped into the room Maddie and Chim had thought they were alone in.
"You weren't supposed to he-" Chim started, but Buck put his hand up.
"Oh, too late for that!" He pointed at Maddie. "Spill it."
"Well..." Maddie started.
"Maddie, we promised." Chim warned.
"No, you promised." She corrected. "I said he should talk to Buck."
"It's not our pl-" Again Chim was cut off.
"If someone doesn't start talking, I'm going to have an aneurysm!" Desperation crept into his voice.
Maddie gave Chim one final look before sighing. "Eddie's going out with some guy he met at the club a few weeks ago."
"Some guy." Buck clarified. Maddie just nodded. So he did hear right.
"He wants to tell you-"
"Maddie!" Chim stopped her again. I'm dying to say something too, but this isn't-"
"Enough! Just tell me!" Buck insisted, tired of the interruptions.
"He's in love with you!" Chim yell back, surprising even himself.
"H-He's in love with...?" Buck trailed off, too shocked to repeat it, and pointed at himself. He looked between the two and they just nodded.
A warmth spread through him as his heart sped up, but he knitted his eyebrows together. A pang of hurt stabbing through his happiness. "Wait...then why is he out with some random dude?"
"H-he thinks he needed some experience actually dating a man. So..." Maddie looked to Chim, who picked up the conversation.
"So, he thought he'd just go get it?"
"So, let me get this straight?" Buck deadpanned. "He thinks I want him to have experience before I'd go out with him?
"More like, he didn't want to mess up and ruin his chance with you?"
Buck's jaw tightened and his eyes hardened.
Maddie threw her hands up. "I tried to tell him it was stupid!"
"Probably the stupidest thing I ever-!" He didnt bother finishing his sentence, just stormed out of the room. Maddie and Chimney followed him.
A new feeling flooded him. It was blinding jealousy. He just found out the man he's secretly loved for years feels the same way, and he goes out with some nobody?
Because he feels like he isn't good enough as he is?
Buck scoffed. He was about to correct all of that nonsense right now.
"Wh-what are you going to do?" Chim asked.
"I'm going to crash his date, that's what I'm going to do." He snapped, angrily swinging the front door open.
"Maybe you should wait for him to come back? Then you two can talk." Maddie reasoned.
"And let club guy do god knows what?" Buck gave a harsh laugh. "Over my dead body." He was in his car in seconds, speeding out of the driveway.
If he had feelings for him then Buck is the only guy Eddie Diaz should be kissing right now, and he was going to make sure that was understood.
