⁰¹ this is a mutuals only blog. what this means is that i’ll only write with those i follow back. things such as sending memes, reacting to starter calls, etc. are allowed only if we follow each other.

⁰²   this blog’s activity is low.  although i’m pretty active, i do have a life outside of roleplay. some days i don’t have the motivation to get online and other days i’m too busy.  please keep this in mind when interacting with any of my blogs. for me roleplay is a hobby and i’ll be treating it as such. if i'm not here, i'm on my multi-muse @centurieslater.

⁰³ if we are mutuals then that is an open invitation for you to come and talk to me. whether it’s about writing or not doesn’t matter. i want to get to write with you! when it comes to memes,  you can send them whenever you want. nothing makes me happier than to see messages in my inbox. if you want to turn them into thread i highly encourage it.

⁰⁴   hate of any kind is not allowed here! anything like racism, homophobia, etc. will not be tolerated and will be resolved with a hard block.  this goes for unnecessary drama and constant vaguing as well. i will make sure to tag any possible triggers using trigger tw.  if you could please tag the following: death, parent death and covid that would mean a lot.

JETHRO CALLOW had been placing bets on the games since he was a young boy, taught by a father who saw the deaths of children as just another way to make coin. for his father, it wasn't about coping — it was for profit, plain and simple. this is a lifestyle jethro carried on with, one that had been ingrained in him since childhood. every reaping was a chance to earn for him and his family, the one time of year when he felt like he could actually provide for them, even if it was through something as sick and twisted as betting on the tribute's deaths.

wyatt, as jethro’s eldest son, was the one jethro expected to follow in his footsteps. but wyatt wasn’t like him. despite his father’s persistence, wyatt never found interest in partaking in something he knew deep down was morally wrong. he would help his father, crunching the numbers and offering insights here and there, but he could never bring himself to take part in the act of betting.

when wyatt was reaped and later killed in the arena, the illusion jethro had lived under finally broke. watching others place bets on wyatt, the same way he had done with so many others, made the full weight of his decisions hit him all at once. there's a theory that jethro possibly betted on haymitch to win the second quarter quell over his own kin, which i think could be a huge possibility. so, consumed by shame and unable to live with what he had done, jethro took his own life, breaking a cycle that had shaped his life since childhood.

WHOSE LUCK JUST RAN OUT. i can’t believe how hard it hits me, how much it hurts. a few days ago, i didn't even want him for an ally. but he wasn't a bad guy, really. he just came from a rotten family.
