The Baby Pt. 13
After a short break, I am back and should be regularly posting now. ________________________________________________________________
The car pulled up to a quiet, unassuming building with a small colorful sign that simply read âLittle Sprouts Daycare.â From the outside, it looked like any other private childcare center, but Emily knew better.
Mrs. Harlow parked and turned around in her seat with a gentle smile.
âWeâre here, baby girl. Time for your first day.â
Emilyâs heart hammered in her chest as they unbuckled her from the car seat. The thick diaper made every movement loud and obvious â loud crinkles accompanied her as Mrs. Harlow lifted her out and set her on her feet. She immediately had to widen her stance because of how bulky the diaper was. The pink onesie stretched tightly over the massive padding, making it impossible to hide.
Everyoneâs going to see me like this⌠I can barely walk.
Sarah took one of her mitten-covered hands while Mrs. Harlow carried the heavily packed diaper bag. They walked her slowly toward the front door. Emily waddled awkwardly between them, the thick diaper forcing her into a very obvious, infantile gait. Every step made the padding squish and crinkle loudly.
This is humiliating⌠but I canât stop it. Iâm really doing this.
Inside, the daycare was bright and cheerful â soft pastel walls, padded flooring, low shelves filled with toys, and several large cribs visible in the nap room down the hall. The faint scent of baby powder and lotion hung in the air.
A warm, professional-looking woman in her mid-30s greeted them at the front desk. She wore a soft blue blouse and had a name tag that read âMiss Rachel.â
âYou must be Emily!â Miss Rachel said with a bright, welcoming smile. âWeâve been expecting you. What a beautiful little angel you are.â
Emily blushed furiously behind her pacifier and bonnet, unable to speak.
Mrs. Harlow handed over the diaper bag. âSheâs quite shy on her first day. Sheâs also a very heavy wetter and has been known to have messy accidents when she gets nervous or relaxed. We packed plenty of extras.â
Miss Rachel nodded kindly, not fazed at all. âThatâs perfectly normal here, sweetheart. We take good care of all our little ones, no matter how many changes they need.â
Just then, another caregiver stepped out from the playroom carrying a stack of clean blankets.
Emilyâs eyes went wide.
It was Lauren.
Her old college roommate was wearing a soft lavender top with the daycare logo, comfortable pants, and a cheerful smile. When Lauren saw Emily standing there in her pink heart onesie, bonnet, mittens, and massively padded diaper, her face lit up with pure delight and surprise.
âOh my goodness⌠Emily?â Lauren said, barely containing her grin. âYouâre one of our new little ones?â
Emily froze completely, mortified. Her pacifier bobbed rapidly as her face turned scarlet.
No⌠not Lauren. Not her. She already saw me in the park yesterday⌠and now sheâs going to be one of my caregivers? Sheâs going to change me? Sheâs going to see me have accidents all day?
Lauren walked over and crouched down so she was eye-level with Emily, her voice soft and kind but still carrying that familiar teasing tone from their college days.
âHey there, froggy,â she whispered so only Emily could hear. âDonât look so scared. I promise Iâll take extra good care of you. And yes⌠I already told Miss Rachel that youâre a very special friend of mine.â
Sarah couldnât help but chuckle quietly beside them.
Lauren stood back up and spoke more professionally. âIâll be one of her primary caregivers today. Weâll make sure she has a wonderful first day.â
Mrs. Harlow gave Emily a gentle kiss on the forehead.
âBe a good girl for Miss Lauren and Miss Rachel, okay? Mommy and Sarah will pick you up this afternoon.â
They both gave her one last hug before heading back to the car, leaving Emily standing there in her thick, crinkly diaper and babyish outfit.
Lauren gently took Emilyâs mitten-covered hand.
âCome on, sweetie. Letâs go to the play corner and get you settled in.â
She led Emily into the large, brightly lit playroom. Several other padded littles were already there â some playing with blocks, others coloring, a couple napping in cribs along the wall. A few glanced over at the new arrival in her very obvious pink onesie and bulky diaper.
Lauren guided Emily over to the soft play corner filled with stuffed animals, soft blocks, and a large alphabet rug.
âYou can play right here for a little while,â Lauren said kindly, helping her sit down. The thick diaper made her land with a loud crinkle, forcing her legs apart. âIâll be right over there if you need a change or a cuddle. Just raise your hand or crawl over to me, okay?â
Emily sat there surrounded by toys, bonnet slightly crooked, pacifier bobbing, cheeks still burning.
Lauren is watching me. Sheâs going to be the one who checks my diaper. Sheâs going to be the one who changes me when I inevitably wet or mess myself. She knows exactly who I was before this weekend⌠and now she gets to see me like this all day.
Lauren gave her a soft, secret little wink before walking over to help another little with a puzzle.
Emily picked up a soft stuffed bunny with her mitten hands and hugged it tightly to her chest.
This is really my life now.
She looked down at the massive bulge between her legs, then back up at Lauren moving gracefully around the room in her caregiver outfit.
A tiny, nervous whimper escaped around her pacifier as she felt the first faint pressure building in her bladder already.
Itâs only been ten minutes⌠and I already feel like I might have an accident soon.
Emily hugged the bunny tighter and tried to focus on the colorful toys in front of her, painfully aware of how thick her diaper was, how babyish she looked, and that her old college roommate was now one of the women responsible for taking care of her most private needs.
Emily sat on the soft alphabet rug in the play corner, her thickly padded bottom spreading out beneath her. She clutched the stuffed bunny tightly to her chest with her mitten-covered hands, trying to focus on the colorful blocks in front of her.
At first, she was too nervous to do much. She just kept rearranging the same three blocks over and over, hyper-aware of how loudly her diaper crinkled every time she shifted. Other littles were playing nearby, some babbling softly, others quietly focused on their toys.
Slowly, she started to relax just a little.
She picked up a bright red block and stacked it on top of a blue one, then added a yellow one. The simple act of building something made her feel a tiny bit calmer. Her pacifier bobbed gently as she worked.
This isnât so bad⌠I can just play with blocks and stay quiet. Maybe no one will notice me.
But the extra-thick diaper and the large bottle sheâd finished in the car were already doing their work. A familiar warm pressure began building low in her belly. She tried to ignore it at first, pressing her thighs together as much as the bulky padding would allow.
It didnât help.
The pressure grew stronger. Emily squirmed on the rug, her legs kicking slightly in the pink booties. She glanced nervously toward Lauren, who was helping another little across the room.
Not yet⌠please not yet. Itâs too soon.
But her body had other plans.
While she was reaching for another block, the first warm trickle escaped. Then another. Before she could even try to stop it, a long, steady stream began flooding into her diaper. The hiss was soft but unmistakable to her own ears as the thick padding began to warm and swell between her legs.
Emily froze, cheeks burning bright red. She kept staring down at the blocks, pretending nothing was happening, but she could feel the wetness spreading â first in the front, then slowly working its way toward the seat. The already bulky diaper grew noticeably heavier and warmer.
Oh no⌠Iâm wetting myself. Right here in the play corner. On my very first day.
She risked a tiny glance up.
Lauren was looking straight at her.
The caregiver had clearly noticed. Her eyes had softened with understanding, and a gentle, knowing smile was forming on her lips. Lauren finished helping the other little, then walked over calmly and knelt down beside Emily.
She placed a warm hand on top of Emilyâs bonnet and spoke softly, just loud enough for only Emily to hear:
âAww, did someone just have her first little accident at daycare?â
Emily whimpered around her pacifier, too embarrassed to nod.
Lauren reached down and gave the front of the heavily padded onesie a gentle, discreet press. Her fingers sank slightly into the now-warm, swelling diaper.
âMmm⌠yes you did. Thatâs a nice, long wetting. Good girl, Emily. You didnât even try to hold it. Thatâs exactly what we want our babies to do here.â
Emilyâs face burned even hotter.
Lauren continued rubbing slow, comforting circles over the front of the soggy diaper, her voice kind and reassuring.
âYouâre being such a good baby. Donât feel shy, okay? This diaper is very thick â it can take so much more than that. You can keep playing and let go as many times as you need to. Miss Lauren will check you regularly and change you when itâs time.â
She gave the wet padding one last affectionate pat and leaned in closer.
âKeep playing with your blocks, sweetie. Youâre doing wonderfully for your first day. Iâm really proud of you.â
Lauren stood up, gave Emilyâs bonnet a gentle adjustment, and walked back to continue supervising the other littles â leaving Emily sitting there in her freshly wet, swelling diaper.
Emily stared down at the colorful blocks, heart racing, face still flushed.
She felt it. She felt me wetting myself⌠and she just praised me for it. She told me the diaper can take more⌠like she expects me to keep going.
She shifted slightly on the rug. The warm, heavy wetness pressed back against her skin with the movement, a constant reminder of what sheâd just done.
And the scariest part is⌠it felt kind of good when she praised me.
Emily picked up another block with shaky mitten hands and slowly placed it on her little tower, trying to continue playing like a good baby.
But deep down, she could already feel the pressure starting to build again.
