He started watching his two children pushing their faces into the small area of the camera, and as he took in their voices, their words, their smiles, he teared up. “Thank you for this.” He grinned. “Can you play it again?”

“Of course.” She pushed play.

His face became brighter. “They are so adorable, aren’t they? Thank you. I have the best wife in the world.”

She kissed his forehead. “We did good.”

He smiled up at her. “I give more credit to you. You carried them for 9 months.”

“Oh hush. You take care of them everyday.”

“Thanks.” He smiled. “I really needed that video. You’re the absolute best.”

“So will you be staying another day then?”

“I have to consult my nurse first. What does she say?”

“She said you need to stay another day.” She smiled.

“Then I suppose I must.”

“Is she allowed to kiss you?”

“If that’s not against hospital policy.” He smirked.

“The hospital doesn’t need to know.” She smiled and leaned down to kiss him.

He smiled and kissed her, desperate to hold her and be free from his pain.
