This photograph, taken by Aaron Lamb, shows the Brooklyn Heights Ladder Company heading for the Twin Towers after the first tower was struck. This would be the last photograph of this truck and everyone on it, six brave souls, because all had perished that day trying to help the survivors.

Its Blue Eyed Child of Fortune by Robert Gould Shaw. The movie Glory is based of this book and his letters, and Matthew Broderick played him.
