What is a dakimakura?
History
Hug pillows have existed in the Japanese culture for decades, mostly in the form of oversized stuffed animals and character merchandises for children and adolescent, however during the 1990s, a distinctly adult-themed subset of pillows known as "body pillows" or "dutch wives" became available as dakimakura began to intertwine with the Otaku culture, leading to the production of pillow covers featuring graphic prints of bishōjo and bishonen characters from popular anime and video games.
Online Presence
In its early days, the majority of custom graphic designs for dakimakura characters were uploaded to and shared via anime-themed websites and communities.

Uke, Seme and Riba?
While i’m on a roll with all of this Yaoi content, lets talk about the terms Uke, Seme, and Riba.
“Seme,” “uke,” and “riba” are terms referring to a character’s role in a male/male sexual relationship mostly used in the Boys’ Love (BL) genre community. “Seme” refers to the character who is the more dominant half and usually takes the lead in the relationship. In contrast, “uke” refers to the character who is less dominant or follows the lead in the relationship. You can roughly say that it’s the equivalent of top and bottom as sexual positions in English. “Riba,” on the other hand, describes a relationship in which the characters’ roles are not strictly unchanged, and they can switch roles between seme and uke. It also indicates a character who can switch and do both seme and uke roles.
Compared to seme and uke, riba is a more recent concept. While the BL manga industry has a lot more works portraying reversible relationships recently, it is more commonly found in the doujinshi (self-published works) community.
While the terms seme and uke are still widely used by the BL genre industry and male/male doujinshi community in Japan, a lot more fans begin to use other terms to describe characters’ roles in a relationship, not just yaoi. But Shounen-Ai as well.
I hope you enjoyed my post, and I hope you would comment down below, what anime guy you prefer? A Uke, Seme, or Riba?

The joy of Yaoi
I read BL manga, and watch BL anime because I enjoy the stories more than any other genre. Infact, I love Yaoi and Shounen-Ai. I get a warm feeling from the BL romance that I just don’t get from shoujo or josei love. I have lots of theories as to why, but when it comes down to it, I doubt I can fully explain my fascination with BL. I have, however, learned to accept it.
The romance factor: I don't know why, but the romance just seems to be more intense than in ordinary boy/girl stories. Sweeter. and more fluffy.
The blush. Yes, I love seeing guys blush. I like when they blush in shounen-ai, after kissing or verbal innuendo.
Because I'm kinda bored already with those typical shoujo manga types and cliche het pairing.
The forbidden love. Well, what can I say? It portrays a romance between two individuals who just happen to be men.
Five Anime With Shounen-Ai Elements That Will Melt Your Heart
BL, which stands for Boys Love, is a category that encompasses relationships between men. Yaoi and shounen-ai both depict BL but in different degrees of intimacy. So, instead of focusing on the physical side of the relationship such as with yaoi, shouned-Ai focuses on the emotional end.

Why I got into the glorious world of Anime!
All my freinds at the time watched anime and read manga. They cosplayed and went to conventions. I wanted to do that to, but I was never aloud to watch shows such as sailor moon or pokemon beause of the "Violent" scenes, so how would I be able to watch Bleach, death note or soul eater? (A few of the anime that was popular when I was younger.)I was very curious and wanted to know what all the hype was about with what they were calling "Anime" i was about 13, my friend at the time was telling me about yaoi. I did not know what that was, but I wanted to give it a try. The first anime I ever watched was a yaoi called JunJou Romantica. I instintly fell in love. It's adorable story, brilliant art style, and of course the characters were unfrogettable.
Infact I enjoyed this anime so much, I went online and looked for more. That is when I discovered more yaoi such as "Fake" "Gravitation, sekaiichi hatsukoi and alot more. I then found the genre, Yuri. which is lesbian anime. I liked that as well. Some of my favorite Yuri are Strawberry Panic, Sweet Blue Flowers and Venus and Virus. The anime Another is very good one. it's full of thrill, mystery and horror. The story focuses on a boy named Kōichi Sakakibara who, upon transferring into Yomiyama Middle School and meeting the curious Mei Misaki, finds himself in a mystery revolving around students and people related to his class falling victim to gruesome, senseless deaths.
I enjoy survival anime as well.Btoom was the first survival one that I tried. It's not as popular, but I loved the 12 episodes the show had. Btoom! is about an unemployed and isolated young man who is one of the world's top players in the titular video game. After Ryōta is nominated to participate in the real-life version of the game, he becomes trapped inside it and meets his love interest Himiko, who was his in-game wife.
So in conclution I got into anime because of it's beautiful art work and very diverse stories.I hope I can share my art and love for anime with you guys. Comment below and share how and when you got into anime!
Top 5 LGBT Animes you need to watch!
ONE
Gravitation
For many, this anime, manga series, and OAV collection was the gateway into shounen-ai and yaoi. Shuichi Shindo is a rising vocalist of a rock band who becomes involved with Eiri Yuki, a romance novelist.
Gravitation is bright, colorful, hilarious. However, the series has dark undertones of sexual assault, violence, and homophobia and how those experiences shape many of the characters.
TWO
Yuri on ice
Yuri Katsuki is a professional ice skater with little self-esteem and a bad season behind him. Viktor Nikiforov is a Russian skating God whom Yuri idolizes. Yuri runs off to his parents hot spring to wallow in pork cutlet bowls. Viktor shows up naked in said hot spring offering to be Yuri’s coach. And the rest was born to make history.
THREE
Sasameki Noto
Sumika Murasame has had a crush on her best friend, Ushio Kazama since middle school. She’s never confessed to her.
The series, which is based off a manga, does a great job of telling the pains of a one-sided love story while also interjecting humor and the overall troubles of going through high school as a lesbian in Japan.
FOUR
Hourou Musko
Shuichi Nitori is a transgender girl. Yoshino Takatsuki is a transgender boy. And they’re both going through puberty. The series, which is based on a manga of the same name, follows their lives, friendships, and romantic relationships from junior high school through high school graduation. It’s a realistic, but also uplifting story about how surrounding yourself with people who accept you can help through the tumultuous years as a teenager who also happens to be transgender.
The series deals with such as being transgender, gender dysphoria, relationships, puberty, and the emotional toll that has on its young protagonists.
FIVE
Revolutionary Girl Utena
While not officially billed as a shoujo-ai, there’s little debate that Revolutionary Girl Utena is, in its heart, a love story. If Gravitation introduced many people to boy’s love, it was this show that introduced them to girl’s love. It’s the story of Utena Tenjou, a teenage tomboy who was so impressed by a kind prince in her youth that she decides to become one herself, and Anthy Himemiya, the Rose Bride.
Utena finds out Anthy is in an abusive relationship and protects her, entering a series of duels at Ohtori Academy. Anthy is the “Rose Bride,” and is awarded as a prize to the winner of each duel. Whoever wins the tournament of the Rose Bride will receive what a so-called power to revolutionize the known world. The series features allegory, magic, and psychological warfare, along with some dark aspects, especially in regards to Anthy. Her status as a "prize" subjects her to a lot of abuse, though she's eventually rescued.
