hello!! i recently discovered not so silent and its become my favorite webtoon!! i have been dancing since i was four, i am autistic, and am learning asl, so this story and the characters really mean so much to me!

I had a question: on your patreon and instagram you drew Fern as a Newsie and said that unfortunately the Newsies arc would not be done due to copyright. Newsies is my favorite musical ever, and i am okay with it not happening, but i wanted to know is Fern was in Newsies, which Newsie would he be cast as?

OMG I love this question! I was picturing a major dancing role like specs, but I've loved thinking about an ASL alternate of the role of Racer or Spot Conlan. I think Fern would just fit their dancing role and personalities so well.

This recent arc in Not So Silent has been such an interesting twist on the hair cutting trope, because usually when a character cuts their hair in a story, it symbolizes them coming into their own and choosing a new identity and showing that physically, but with Lewis, he had someone cut his hair against his will, forcibly removing a part of his identity from him in a way that should have been his to choose, taking the autonomy away from him, and he tries to take it back somewhat by saying to donate it and reclaiming some of his power back in the situation, but even if he tries to act like it was in some way his choice, it wasn’t at all. Just like how he acts like the things he family wants him to do are his desires and choices to, to make himself feel more in control, when in reality, he’s most certainly not. Auuugh, I’m a sucker for the haircut as character development trope, so to see it completely turned on its head like this is so devastating.
