Ducks (penises) and chickens (no penises) donât mix well Ducks can kill chicken hens by mating them to death, or drowning them So, my neighborâs solution - she gave me a second duckling Tally 2 ducklings Also Adorable. Super cute, tiny beak, tiny webbed feet. Then she gave me the parent ducks since the male bit her The males is a gorgeous limping Pekin male, the female is a TINY mallard Tally - 1 female, 1 male, 2 ??? The two ducklings turned out to both be males/drakes Tally - 1 female, 3 males I jokingly said to a friend, man if I wanted ducks I would have gotten Cayugas Cayuagas are black and iridescent green - very pretty So for my birthday, that friend gave me a Cayuga ducklings her sister had Tally - 1 female, 3 males, 1 ??? So, after wine I ordered crested ducklings from texas which were on sale They arrived looking ratty, punch drunk I ended up selling all of them that didnât die Tally, unchanged I ordered more for myself and it took a month In the interim I ordered a dozen sexed female ducks from a hatchery in Ohio To balance out all the drakes They arrived last Wednesday all perky, hale and hearty Tally - 13 females, 4 males The Texas place screwed up the order and a bunch died I ended up with two Tally - 13 females, 4 males, 2 ??? Wednesday I will receive the replacement ducks and my order... Long way to say, soon my yard will look like this video... Duck math.

Just an excellent post of animals with fabulous names in the family procyonidae (raccoon family). Animals that donât get a lot of press, but are pretty awesome in their own way. They are also pretty adaptable -- Procyonids inhabit a wide range of environments and are generally omnivorous.

A juvenile Hawaiian monk seal was found with a spotted eel in its nose at French Frigate Shoals in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands this past summer. And it wasn't the first time it happened.
Though NOAA has been monitoring the monk seal population in the northern islands of Hawaii for almost 40 years, this eel-in-the-nose problem has been observed a handful of times, but only since 2016.
The NOAA has proposed two hypotheses: first, that eels launch themselves defensively at the seals while they are foraging for food, shoving their mouths and noses into the crevices of coral reefs and under rocks. Â
Another theory the agency suggests is that a seal may swallow an eel whole and then regurgitate it through its nose.
The conservation agency reassured concerned viewers that the eel was successfully removed, saying that the procedure required light restraint of the seal and a slow, steady pull on the eel, taking around 30 seconds in total. "In all cases the eel was successfully removed and the seals were fine. The eels, however, did not make it," the agency said. Text Source

This is a tiny bird about the length of a business card, 9 cm (3.5 in) and weighing 7 to 8 grams (0.25 to 0.28 oz). Sexually dimorphic, the male has navy blue upper parts with a bright red streak down its back from its crown to its tail coverts, while the female and juvenile are predominantly olive green. It is found in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and occasionally gardens in a number of countries throughout South and East Asia. âCruentatumâ in its Latn name translates to bloodstained for the bright red color which runs down the maleâs back and along the hind end of the female. Called a flowerpecker but is primarily a frugivore.
