While I still scroll through Tumblr occasionally, I just looked and realized I haven’t posted since late November, which is crazy! I feel like this space lost a lot of it’s sparkle for me when replies went away. It feels kind of weird and creepy to put things out into the universe without it being a catalyst for engagement or conversation.

Plus I got a new phone and never linked my Instagram account to my Tumblr, so I stopped sending those pictures this way. What’s the point, anyway?

In my absence, has anyone figured out a solution to the reply problem?

Things are good here. Sloane is getting so big! Michael is talking up a storm! Mike is about to embark on a lot of travel between now and March. We’re battening down the hatches and trying to find ways to stay happy and warm and stimulated when the weather gets really cold. Probably lots of movies :)

Big girl now does it by herself.

Why is it that the mornings that someone else is getting up with your baby, she wakes up at a reasonable hour, for example 6:30am? But on the days that you are responsible for that same baby, she wakes up prior to 5am?

Now that MGIII is well into his two's, we are seeing some of that terrible behavior you hear about. I would say he has some sort of meltdown about something about once a day. I don't really believe in punishing a kid his age, but we do mimic what they do at his preschool when the kids aren't behaving, which is to give them a "break" until he calms down a little. So if he does something bad, or is melting down because of something-I put him in his crib and say something like: "You need to stay in here until you calm down. It's not okay to (insert transgression here) and when you apologize to (Mommy, Sloane, etc) and stop crying, you can get out." Putting him in the crib isn't ideal-but we live in a two bedroom apartment and we don't really have any other options! Anyway, the other day he was "taking a break" and I was standing in the kitchen. I had just left his room only a minute earlier when he came casually strolling into the kitchen, climbed up on a stool and said "mama,I have pretzel please?" Which is how I realized that he was able to climb out of his crib. FML

I'm all caught up and totally obsessed!

I'm kind of a hot mess over here today.

I’d like to have a pillow like this made with a custom saying. I’m having a hard time finding what I’m looking for on Etsy. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Has anyone successfully solved the DST problem? My days are starting sooo early.

Day 2 of Walking Mommy Cliche.

Did not achieve REM sleep last night. Sloane would not settle and I was trying to soothe her about every 45 minutes. Noticed a fever around 3 and administered some acetaminophen. Managed to get her to settle fairly well, lying directly on top of me. Begged husband to take her upon her wake-up for the day at 5:40.

I’ve applied dry shampoo to hopefully mask the greasy hair. I’m wearing YOGA PANTS to pre-school drop off. Praying fervently that she naps long enough that I can catch a few z’s after I get back.

There is no babysitter today. Please send coffee.

I’m a walking frazzled mom caricature today. I’ve been awake since 4am I haven’t showered and am jittery from too much caffeine.

Sloane is only napping in 45 minute increments, meaning no afternoon catnap for me and I’m feeling weepy about it.

I’m currently sitting in a pile of toys in my disaster of a living room letting her run amok and praying that MGIII sleeps for another hour.

My sitter is coming this afternoon and I had planned to leave her with Sloane so that I could get some quality, one-on-one time with my main little man, but now I’ve decided that I’m going to run out the door as soon as she arrives and hope the kids don’t notice that I’ve left.
