Judging Panel

So our guest judge for this week is the fabulous Miss Kitty who I really enjoyed actually. She certainly seemed to have a fun time and interacted well with the Boulet’s as well as having some very valid criticisms.

Floor Show

Here we go with this really cool challenge. I am going to give my personal opinions of these looks. I don’t always agree with the judges so just know that these are my opinions. Not the judges.

Abhora: Toot The most original and unique of the looks by far. Based on a rubber hose animation Abhora is giving us a cartoon miner from the betty boop era and god damn it’s fierce as hell. It is terrifying and I really love it.

Biqtch: Boot The boot is for the look because it was busted as all hell. I am so angry about her using the same schtick for two looks in a row. However her performance was completely fierce as hell. I was mesmerized watching her as she struggled and gargled up black water.

Dahli: Toot She was giving me this sort of androgynous witch doctor of the desert plains and I was living for her beat. The skull was amazing and I loved the wig and headdress and she was gorgeous to watch her move.

Disasterina: Toot This was almost a Shoot. It was very close. I loved the story to this look. However I got a different story then what she was trying to tell apparently. It is this white gowned madame whipping these children and I was thinking kids she murdered that came back to drag her to hell. But it apparently wasn’t that but still the look was fierce as hell.

Erika: Boot This look felt very pedestrian despite the ideas that seemed to work well. I liked her thought process and she did look good but I just don’t think she elevated her look as much as the rest of the other girls.

James: Boot The look didn’t really feel like I could tell what story she was presenting. Dead person from disease is all I got and that did not satisfy me at all. I couldn’t tell if she was a madame or a little girl or what and it just felt not very well thought out.

Kendra: Toot but very lowkey. I do love the rats and the plague concept but this gown looked the same as like half of the other gowns and it was a little frustrating to not see the plague idea to translate into more of the outfit. But she does get bonus points for those precious rat babies.

Monikkie: Boot While I do like that she changed her mask and it was a bit more of an original idea compared to the rest I don’t think it was extreme enough. It was very plain. I mean the mask is there but the mask if it is a staple of her can’t be what she uses for shock value each time. Once again giving one of my team members a boot....

Victoria: Toot I loved this look and the makeup was great. She looked like a charred corpse of a fortune teller right down to almost all of the hair on her head being burned off. I will say it is hard to get a grasp on victoria as a person still because her looks are brilliant concepts but don’t seem to have anywhere grounded with a set personality if that makes sense. Still loved this look and she deserved the win.

So this episode starts with the Boulet Brothers and Israel going and digging up a guy and resurrecting him in a Frankenstein manner. The only reason I even mention this is I feel it will be relevant to future episodes because it had no application to this one.

After that we cut to the queens riding in a truck over a hill and down a dusty dirt road. These queens are just screaming and hollering apparently it was a very terrifying ride and they were all scared that they were about to fall out.

Rightfully so apparently because the truck just tips the back and dumps all of them out forcing them to tumble out or jump out. They all stand around as Erika and Monikkie show up revealing to the other queens that Felony went home.

The Boulet Brothers pull up in a bright pink car with Israel and give the girls a drink and announce this weeks challenge. On a side note I loved these looks the Boulets were giving us.

Challenge

They announce that, accurate to the location, the challenge is to create a character and a story for a ghost town. The story should come across from your performance and your look.

I like this challenge a lot considering I’m a good ol country boy from the west and I love all our ghost towns and spooky stories.

Boudoir

Ohhhhh booooyyyyyy dramaaaa..... When they said this season was like “Mean Girls Club” they were not joking. So the first really big thing is James asks monikkie to step out of the saloon with her and they walk a little down the dirt road. James full on apologizing for being a jerk in the first episode and from what I thought it seemed pretty genuine. Monikkie did not buy it at all though she pretended to which I suppose did save us from an even more dramatic situation.

They come back to the Boudoir seeming to have made an alliance. However, while they were outside the drama between Abhora and Biqtch seems to be stewing. Most of the queens have clearly grown more attached to Abhora and so it seems many of them are immediately taking her side.

When James and Monikkie come back they both immediately start jumping on Biqtch and how her face is the exact same as from the week before. Now I may sound mean for saying this but I am in agreement with them. I was so pissed at how lazy that was. There were so many other things she could have done!

Biqtch tries to come back at Monikkie and James but she seems to sort of flounder and peter out as all the queens except for Erika are all calling her out on her shit.

We do get to hear more about Victoria which made me happy because I was so angry at Abhora last week for so rudely interrupting and apparently so were the other queens. (WE ALSO GOT TO SEE THE FOOT RUB FROM LAST EPISODE!)

On another sidenote. Dahli as a boy in that skull paint really really did me right. He was looking so fine <3

Extermination

So the exterminations this season are rumored to be fucking insane! They start off with a bang. The Boulet Brothers have dubbed this challenge “The Human Pin Cushion” which is pretty much exactly what you think.

The three bottom queens, Erika, Felony, and Monikkie, have to have as many needles as they can poked and pushed into them. Now when I first watched this episode I was with friends and literally everyone ran from the room. It is very squicky and if you’re afraid of needles it is most definitely not something you should watch.

I am just going to organize this by writing a short little blurb about how each queen did in the extermination instead of mixing it all together cause that way I can keep it organized.

Erika

So Erika was the most afraid going into this extermination. She tells us that she has never had a piercing and that this will be great practice. I was almost certain she would be the one going home at first because she flinches away from the needle several times. But once she has one in she seems to get the swing of it and starts demanding more. This made me realize she most likely would stay not just because of the amount of needles but also because of the entertainment factor.

Monikkie

I know there is a lot of drama with Monikkie but I will flat out say it. She was the one I went into this show rooting for. I have looked into the whole deal with her and can safely say I’m certain it’s in the past. But if it’s not then my opinion can change very easily. That out of the way I can say I did not want to see her going home first episode. I briefly thought she would though because she had the worst outfit out of every single queen this episode and it would make sense for one of the weirdest to go home first. But then Monikkie did what she does best. She let her grotesqueness show. She didn’t flinch and she barely reacted. She monologued and laughed and just like that I knew she was safe.

Felony

Going in I was pretty sure Felony was safe because she wasn’t super nervous. She seemed to be doing ok. But as the Extermination went on I realized that both Erika and Monikkie were outshining her. She did mention some stuff about how she was going to have 2 years sober and that stuff was super cool to hear though.

Elimination

In the end it was unfortunately Felony who kicked the bucket. I was really sad because I like her looks and I love her videos on youtube. She is hilarious and a great talent. But at least we did get to see her shine one last time in that death sequence.

Final Scores

Floor Show

Let’s get right into this with some toots and boots and my personal opinions. Starting with.....

Abhora: Toot I really liked this look and when you see all the other looks you realize how unique it is compared to the rest. She looks like a body horror witch from your childhood nightmares.

Biqtch Puddin: Boot This really just didn’t read Cenobite to me at all. Even though the make up was impressive I think she tried to do too much and didn’t have enough time so the quality was lessened.

Dahli: Toot This did look really really good. But from what I remember of Cenobites I feel like this was a little bit of a stretch. The outfit was spot on from head to toe though so overall I enjoyed it.

Felony Dodger: Toot I actually liked this look. I liked the teeth and the shards. The one thing I didn’t like as much were the shoes. I mean the style choices were a bit on the low end to be sure but I didn’t think they were too bad.

Erika Klash: Boot While I do admire the overall idea of her look I think it could have used a few prosthetics or something to make it look more real instead of having it just all drawn on.

Kendra Onixxx: Toot I am going to toot this look because I do enjoy it. However I will say I don’t see it looking much like a cenobite. It looks more like some kind of Mad Max character. A post apocalyptic biker or general.

James Majesty: Toot I like this look a lot. It’s really disturbing to look at with the huge lips and all the wire and bizarre nails. I will say I am not a fan of how it moves but that is like the most minor of nitpicks.

Monikkie Shame: Boot Oh boy.... This.... this was really really really bad. That outfit looked so awful. I just know monikkie could have killed this challenge if she had tried harder on this outfit but nope. The mask was cool but that was it.

Victoria Elizabeth Black: Shoot I had to decide if it was a toot or a shoot but in the end I think it has to be a shoot. It is just so good. All the effort, all the details. It’s just a horrific delight to behold. If you watched the ep you know how good it is.

Disasterina: Toot This look is really intricate and impressive. Disasterina did an explanation on her youtube channel and if you want a link to that you can shoot me an ask and i’ll send it to you. One little detail I didn’t notice at first was the pussy and asshole on her face. It’s details like that that made me love the look.

Boudoir

So our queens come into the Boudoir and this is the spot where you can clearly see the things they worked on to improve from season one. It’s not just a little tiny dressing room anymore. It’s a big wide room with enough space to see all the queens.

The one thing I was confused about is that the queens are working on their looks while in drag. I don’t know it just seemed a little weird to me but that’s not much to nitpick.

It’s kind of silly at first because they go around and start introducing themselves like it’s summer camp or something. I immediately wanted to be friends with erika because she has a lot of interests that I relate to. She also seems like a sweetheart.

James Majesty is almost immediately disliked by everyone but especially Monikkie because she supposedly had an argument with her on social media that Monikkie felt very insulted by. They immediately start bickering and it’s pretty insulting and petty not as entertaining as you’d think. As I mentioned it seems they aren’t very addiction conscious but maybe that’s just me.

James continues to insult a few of the other queens through the Boudoir segment until Kendra says she thinks James is going home next in her opinion because she doesn’t look like her instagram posts.

Abhora apparently had some drama as well with Biqtch Puddin as she blames biqtch for strife with her boyfriend and says she is a pageant queen and not a monster. James starts to jump on this bandwagon before Felony Dodger and Erika shut it down very reasonably which I appreciated.

I have to say I was a bit peeved that when Victoria was trying to introduce herself it totally got interrupted by abhora whispering about biqtch. I really want to learn more about victoria because she’s a big mystery in this competition at least to me. I literally only know she’s from florida and paints like a goddess.

We also learn a little bit about Disasterina. We find out that she identifies as heteroflexible and is married to a woman which I personally think is great. Their wife is supportive and helps them with their drag and it’s super fun. The only queen so far who seems to like Disasterina is Victoria.

After all that drama they finish up with the Boudoir and head out. “Welcome to Dragula, Bitches!”

Judging Panel

The Boulet Brothers appear on the main stage in these ghostly green dresses. For the most part they look super fierce but my one thing is I think they needed brows of some kind. It’s not my favorite look on them unfortunately.

Now win the guest judges were announced I just started screaming with excitement. First is Gage Munster who I first saw in an episode of Willam’s Youtube series “Paint Me Bitch”, where he and Bianca Del Rio paint Willam to look like ET and it was fucking hilarious. He’s super hot and seems like a great guy, when I saw him I thought “Oh cool a familiar face.” But oh boy I wasn’t prepared for the second guest judge. 

WILLAM WAS THE SECOND GUEST JUDGE! I freaked out. I completely adore Willam and was so surprised to see her in Dragula. She looked super gorgeous in her studded leather mini coat and pink wig. It was really great. That said she was super fucking harsh to these queens.

A bunch of filthy women if I do say so myself. It was a bit of a mixed bag for me actually.

Abhora: Toot I loved that she immediately did her go to drag and it looked fierce. I just hope she can show that she is versatile with other looks as well.

Biqtch: Boot This look was basic and kind of disastrous and really just unpleasant to look at. A pop star look with no taste to it. I also couldn’t get a grasp on her wig.

Dahli: Toot Holy moly is she stunning to look at. She rocks a sort of nappy dreaded wig but her face is painted for the fucking gods. I was blown away.

Disasterina: Boot I really really hate how Disasterina looks most of the time. But I think that’s part of who she isas a queen which I can completely respect.

Erika: Toot While this is not as enthusiastic her look did have some cohesiveness that I really appreciated the way the facial hair matched her pigtails not only in color but in length was something I noticed.

Felony: Toot The taste level was a little questionable but at the same time I really liked this. She is a gorgeous queen to be sure.

James: Toot Her face was gorgeous except for that glaringly obvious bald cap she used that just really ruined her hairline. If it had just been her face it would have been a boot but she was wearing a gorgeous black dress that I really did love.

Kendra: Toot She was giving me some Punk Rock Storm from Marvel and I thought it looked really good!

Monikkie: Toot I can acknowledge that her look was pedestrian but I did enjoy the fascinator on her mask. Plus the mask in general is just a look all it’s own.

Victoria: Toot I’m going to try really hard not to compare queens with other queens that often but this one time I have to say. She looked like Tatianna if she had been murdered and left to rot and it was kind of amazing!!!!

Mini Challenge: Blood Chugging Contest!!!

They got to chug big ol cups full of blood which is a great mini challenge to start off the first episode of a Dragula season.

Winner: Monikkie

Monikkie wins because as she says she can chug anything faster then anyone. Dahli calls her a minor alcoholic and James later in the boudoir does as well which is kind of shitty if you ask me. I mean being an alcoholic is not good but at least have a sensitivity toward addiction.

Loser: Victoria

As penalty Victoria supposedly had to give Monikkie an hour long Foot Massage before the floor show.

I will say on a side note that when James finished she was super over dramatic and it did rub me the wrong way a bit.
