does anyone else feel like the tokyo mew mew reboot has been doing really well at eliciting emotions vs. the original? the new dialogue and scenes they’re giving us has been extremely visceral. they’re spending time highlighting the characters feelings more. like episode 2 was much more intense and emotional than the original when ichigo tells lettuce she’s not alone. (I had to take a moment and cry). and now with episode 3 they’re really developing masaya’s separation anxiety with ichigo. I didn’t expect him to yell “I’m done!” with tears in his eyes. I honestly cried again because I felt so attacked 😭 like we didn’t get this characterization last time! it’s so intense 😭 anyway I keep ending the episodes CRYING. and not just from nostalgia, but because they’re really pulling it out of me. and I know this is coming from someone who cries a lot in general, but every time I come home on tuesdays excited for some cute mew mew time I am not expecting to cry. this reboot is everything
