β§. 3. Your first date was a bit tense. The both of you sat in a booth at a fancy restaurant and he's just sitting there with his hands tucked in the pockets of his black jacket, thinking about a topic to talk about.
β§. 4. He is SO protective over you, such as whenever you go on deliveries with him, he does everything in his power so that guys don't talk to you.
β§. 5. Chris doesn't directly say "i miss you" instead, he asks you to come over and pretends it's for something practical.
β§. 6. Chris listens to you talk like your voice is his LIFELINE. even when you ramble, he never looks bored, just quietly attentive.
β§. 7. He's not so used to affection in public (he's a freak so you told him to tone it down in public) but sometimes you'll feel his hand rub small circles on you're thigh under a table where no one can see.

Doll!Reader x Christopher sturniolo
summary: its the 40βs (1940βs)Doll dreams of joining the Eastbrook High dance team but feels held back by her lack of proper dance shoes. Her friends encourage her, but sheβs too nervous to audition. Quietly, Christopher notices her struggle and secretly crafts a pair of special shoes for her. With his gift, Doll gains the confidence to audition, dances beautifully, and earns a spot on the team.
Autumn in Eastbrook had a way of making everything feel like a storybook. The maple trees along the front of the high school blazed with reds and golds, leaves spinning in lazy circles to the ground. Doll liked to think of them as dancersβfree, unafraid, twirling for no one but themselves. Doll envied that freedom.Β
Doll was the kind of girl people noticed without her realizing it. Her long hair was usually pulled back in a braid, her doe eyes bright even when she was tired, and her soft skin always flushed whenever she laughed or practiced pirouettes too long. What most people didnβt see was the way her fingers twisted in her sleeves when auditions came up, or the way her heart sank every time she looked down at her shoes.
Because lace, leather shoes werenβt dance shoes. Dance shoes weren't something anyone has thought of quite yet, the concept was there but no one had fully brought it to life . The Eastbrook Dance Team tryouts were posted on a flyer taped in the hallway outside the cafeteria βFriday, 4 p.m., Gymnasium.β Doll wanted nothing more than to see her name on that list. She could already picture herself under the bright lights, moving with the music instead of only daydreaming about it. But there was a problem she couldnβt shake.
βI canβt do it,β she muttered at lunch one day, shoving her untouched apple around her tray.
Nicole nearly choked on her water. βWhat do you mean you canβt? Doll, youβve been talking about this for months!β
Matthew leaned forward, pointing his sandwich at her like a sword. βIf the floor had feelings, it would beg you to audition.β
Madison tucked her hair behind her ear, more gentle than the others. βYouβre seriously going to let a pair of shoes stop you? Shoes donβt make a dancer. Heart does.β
Doll bit her lip, eyes dropping to the scuffed leather shoes on her feet. βYou donβt get it. Without the right shoes, Iβll slip. Or look ridiculous. Everyone else will be prepared, and Iβll be the joke.β
Her friends traded looks but said nothing more. Theyβd learned that once Doll shut down, she was hard to budge. Still, their encouragement stayed with her, bouncing around her mind even when she tried to shove it aside.
What Doll didnβt notice was the quiet figure at the end of the cafeteria table: Christopher.
Christopher was two things at onceβawkward and brilliant. He wasnβt the loudest in the group, or even technically in the group. But he was always nearby: in English class, sketching gears in the margins of his notebook; in the hallway, carrying his sketchbook under one arm like a shield; in the cafeteria, silently cataloging the way Dollβs shoulders slumped when she thought no one was looking. Christopher had noticed. He had noticed everything.
That night, while the world slept, Christopher sat in his garage with a lantern glowing at his side. His hands worked carefully over scraps of leather and wood, tools spread out across the workbench. His grandfatherβs hammer, his fatherβs measuring tape, his own stubborn determination. He had never made a pair of shoes before, but he had studied enough diagrams, read enough about balance and friction, to believe he could.
βIf she needs shoes,β he murmured, adjusting the stitching, βthen sheβll have them.β
Days passed. At school, Doll wrestled with her nerves. At home, Christopher wrestled with his invention.
By Thursday night, Doll sat cross-legged on her bed, staring at the audition flyer taped above her desk. Her stomach knotted every time she looked at it. She imagined the music starting, her feet sliding across the floor, and everyone watching her fail. Maybe her friends were wrong. Maybe wanting something wasnβt enough.
Friday arrived too quickly. The gym was alive with soundβmusic from the speakers, chatter from nervous dancers, the squeak of sneakers on polished wood. Students stretched, warmed up, and whispered encouragements to one another. Doll hovered by the bleachers, arms wrapped around herself, her heart pounding. She thought, for one panicked second, of sneaking out before anyone noticed.
βDollie?β She turned.
Christopher stood in front of her, hair flopping into his eyes, holding a box in both hands. His voice shook a little. βUmβ¦ I made something. For you.β
Her brow furrowed as she accepted the box. Inside, cushioned by scraps of fabric, lay a pair of shoes unlike anything sheβd ever seenβsleek but sturdy, stitched with care, with soles that looked both soft and strong. Her breath caught.
βChristopher, did youβ¦make these?β
He nodded quickly, cheeks pink. βI justβ¦ I couldnβt stand watching you give up on something you love. I donβt know if theyβll work perfectly, butβplease. Try them.β
Doll slipped the shoes on. They fit as though they had been waiting for her. She stood, took a tentative step, then spun in a small circle. They moved with her. Her throat tightened, and before she could stop herself, she threw her arms around Christopher.
It wasnβt one of those quick, awkward hugs people give in hallways. It was warm, full, the kind of hug that said more than words ever could. Christopher froze for a second, then hugged her back, his smile hidden against her shoulder.
βThank you,β Doll whispered. Her chest felt lighter than it had in weeks.
When the coach called her name, she pulled away, her hazel eyes shining. She gave Christopher one last look, then ran to the center of the gym.
The music started. She danced.
Every leap, every turn felt differentβlighter, freer. The shoes supported her, yes, but it was more than that. They carried Christopherβs belief in her, her friendsβ encouragement, and her own courage finally breaking through. The music surged, and Doll let herself go, spinning like the leaves outside the school, unafraid and unstoppable.
When the routine ended, the applause filled the gym.
Later, when the roster was posted, Dollβs name was among the chosen. Nicole shrieked. Matthew pumped his fist in the air. Madison beamed. And ChristopherβChristopher just smiled, quiet but proud.
Doll pushed through the crowd until she stood in front of him. βChris,β she said softly, glancing down at the shoes, βthese didnβt just help me dance. They reminded me that hard work doesn't just fix problemsβit changes people. It makes us braver.β
Chrisβs crooked smile spread. βGuess that means Iβll have to invent more.β
Doll laughed, slipping her hand into his. βMaybe. But for nowβ¦ these are enough.β
Outside, the autumn leaves kept twirling, and Doll no longer envied them. She was one of them nowβdancing, no longer afraid, and finally free.
idk where I got the idea to write this but hey at least I wrote something π!!

It starts small, like it always does.
Chris catches your hand without thinkingβpulling you through a crowded street, his laugh cutting through the noise. It's nothing, just him being him, but the warmth of his palm lingers long after.
Later, you're in the passenger seat of his car, city lights spilling across the dashboard while he sings badly along to whatever's playing. He glances at you mid-chorus, smirks, and suddenly it feels like the whole world tilted.
Every moment with him is like that. Stupid, simple things that shouldn't mean anything βhis hoodie draped over your shoulders, his knee bumping yours, the way he leans too close when he's teasing you. None of it should stick. And yet, it does.
With Chris, you don't fall once. You fall again, and again, and again.
The car slows at a red light, music humming low. He looks over at you, quieter now, his smirk fading into something softer-something that feels like it's meant only for you.
His thumb taps the steering wheel, but his gaze doesn't leave yours.
"You ever think," he says slowly, "that maybe we were always supposed to end up like this?"
hehehe guess who finally wrote, itβs so bad but hey itβs definitely something!! :3
