Thanks to everyone who followed me last night. Don't be strangers, arasseo?
Hello there! I'm Joonmyeon, and I'm a guardian angel. And while watching over my human accounts for a good portion of my time, I think I could squeeze in time for friends. Do I have any volunteers? LIKE/REBLOG

He was confused, because the words coming from the other’s lips seemed very soothing, to the point where this something inside of him told him to believe whatever he was saying. But he couldn’t, he remembered when he trusted someone too easily, it caused him to be scarred for the rest of his life if not longer and he didn’t want to experience something like that again. For all he knew this person might’ve been a part of their gang, trying to get him back to that place, to continue what they once started. He knew if that happened again, there was no way to escape, to get out of it and it would certainly mean his death. That was the thought that kept him from trusting this person.
The person inched closer but then stopped, with still some distance between the two of them. It made him feel uncomfortable but it was still bearable, it was the amount of distance he needed if he wanted to run away and be faster than him. ‘Why would I believe you?’ he asked, the shakiness in his voice being very clear, he was nervous for what was going to happen but over all he was scared. He couldn’t trust people, at least not on a first meeting like this.
‘You’re only going to hurt me, take me back to them. Let them continue what they once started.’ he exclaimed, his voice starting to shake more and more along with the rest of his body. ‘I don’t want to go back, leave me alone..’
He listened to the boy's words, allowing him to speak on how he felt. He could easily sympathize, seeing as though he'd experienced all of these major life events alongside him, despite it being secondhand. He shook his head slowly, gnawing his lip while words formed in the back of his throat.
"I wouldn't take you back-- I couldn't stand to see you that way again." He shook his head firmly again, images of the past pouring into his head. "I unlocked that door, y'know?" He smiled weakly, hoping the statement would sway him some. "I cheered you on silently while you found your way out of that hellhole, and into that boy's life..." He trailed off, looking up to the sky briefly.

Yejun watched as the person seemed to get closer to him, giving him the time to take in his features too. Intimidating? A little, yet he didn’t seem like a scary person. No. He looked normal, nothing out of the ordinary he would fit in anywhere, unlike Yejun who seemed to have the kind of aura around him that made people interested and talk to him, he definitely wasn’t happy with that because he liked being alone more, no matter how much sometimes he craved for some attention, for some affection, he was just too scared to get it. Whoever this person was, his features we nice, a friendly face and as soon as he spoke up he realized his voice was very soothing, the kind of voice you’d want to have to sing you a lullaby whenever you can’t sleep.
...
The shift in Yejun's expression caused the male's heart to drop, his gaze falling along with it to avoid his eyes. He could recall every time he'd seen an expression so similar, despite it being from off in the distance or from another being's form. He sensed these moments, and was nearly always present to witness such a pain. It pained him as well, knowing it wasn't his place to relieve him from the path that'd been paved for him-- he was only there to guide him through it.
"Hurting you is the last thing I'd ever even think of doing." He assured, his gaze rising again to meet the other's while a stern expression overcame him. He didn't know how he could explain himself without coming off as a threat. Certainly the boy would think he was crazy.
"Let me prove it to you, please." He took a step closer, though maintaining a comfortable distance. "You shouldn't be afraid of me; I'm here to help you."

It had been another one of those days in which Yejun had left his house after doubting for quite a while about whether to do it or not. It was still a challenge for him, to leave the house since it was like leaving his comfort zone and for someone who was as scared as him, it was certainly a big thing. He had plugged his earphones in and turned on his favorite song on repeat, it calmed him down while he left the house on his way to the park. The place he went to every single time he left the house. He didn’t get any further than the park or the local super market for his groceries, many people knew him around there already so they didn’t ask him a lot of questions, only when necessarily and he liked that — despite knowing they were all pitying him.
...
How could one feel so in tune with a complete stranger? Similar to what one may perceive as being a soul mate, Joonmyeon felt his non-human soul intertwined with Yejun's fragile, human one-- Yejun was his purpose, after all. His very presence gave the boy boosts of strength in order to endure his hardships, his gaze always pointed at him from afar.
Though today, he must've been faltering. He'd gone (mostly) unnoticed all this time-- twenty years of his immortality was spent blending within the shadows until now. He halted his steps while the other jerked around, seeming to have felt his eyes against his back. Acting as though he'd been on his phone, he waited until the boy was at ease again, tracing the boy's steps in a sort of elusive manner when he continued.
Joonmyeon looked far from intimidating, and he assumed that's why no one ever payed him any attention. His attire would normally be something along the lines of borderline formal, seeming as though he'd been on his way home from work or something equally as bland. You couldn't be a stalker (because let's admit, despite his good intentions, Joonmyeon was most definitely a stalker) with a look that would punch any bystander in the face; it just wouldn't work!
And so, Joonmyeon took all of the precautions, mastering the art of seeming casual to watch this boy all these years, and here he was. Here he was, staring him in the eyes, having found himself a bit too close, contemplating what words to say.
"W-Why are you following me?"
Joonmyeon swallowed hard, though his expression was as soft as it always was. "Oh," he offered a smile. "does it seem that way? I don't believe I am." He gave a chuckle, his head dipping into a semi-polite bow while he rubbed at his nape.
"Forgive me, Yejun-ah--" He wrinkled his nose immediately at his carelessness. How could he let his name slip his tongue? They'd never even been introduced.
"I need to talk with you," he continued, furrowing his brow. "I suppose it's time we meet."
