[Gather My godly ones to Me, those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice. Psalm 50:5] Sunday mornings in my life have always been a sacred moment, cherished with coffee, family and worship. I suppose you could say my Sunday mornings have never been 'ordinary'- according to both the world and the church. I didn't grow up in one church for 18 years. In fact, there were many years where we didn't consistently go to a church building on Sunday morning, but that never made it less sacred. I've never truly viewed church as a place, I think I've always viewed it as a body stretched across oceans and valleys of this finite world working towards the infinite in ways only that member knows how. It's with this knowledge that has been sewn unintentionally into my being since childhood, that I find no condemnation being in a new place and not feeling at home in a church building. Does this mean I don't long for the fellowship only a church can bring? No, I long for it every Sunday, when I know my home church is having a party and I can't quite shake the reality that no place will feel as home as Lighthouse. But I rest in the reality that home isn't a building or a feeling, home is within the One who is faithful to encounter us when we simply come as we are, in all of our messy and raw glory. I say Yes to this new covenant you are forming within me, God and no to every other thing that will try to take Your spot as FIRST. I say YES to sacred Sunday mornings seeking You in the secret place. I say YES to laying down whatever is necessary to simply have more of a revelation of YOU. I say Yes. Plain and simple. Yes.
