I wanna lay with you 'til I'm old

“Last night I had a dream about you.”

Hamal looked at Calder sadly as he sucked in a shaky breath. “I don’t have to imagine that,” he began, then he paused to center himself. “I didn’t choose to come to earth, not on my own. I.. we had no idea what it meant, and what was I supposed to do? Abandon the person I loved the most and let him take a blind leap completely alone? Then, when we were here, and we found Raguel we were so relieved, he was one of the archangels, surely he would help us. You think you’re only one who knows about how terrible my family can be? Raguel spent thousands of years torturing me and Abariel. I know. I know what it’s like to put your faith in something, in god, and the archangels, and heaven, and to have it leave you in the fucking gutter. I’m sorry, for whatever happened to you, it’s not my fault. I’m a grunt, I’m nothing, I never was given a choice either.”

“I don’t have any other choice.”

When the stranger responded well to the kiss Hamal wasted no time deepening it, pressing himself up to the young man and letting his tongue dip into the other’s mouth.

Abariel was not the sort of being who appreciated drinking or kissing, which left the younger angel on his own to celebrate the new year. So as the year was drawing to a close he simply plucked the cutest boy he could find off the the street and and gave them as much of a kiss as they would willingly receive.

Hamal licked his own lips as he watched the other watch him. “Is that so?” he asked curiously, his head tilting to one side. “Then consider this to be me asking.”

With a smirk of his own and without any hesitation he took the spot that the other had patted. He made no attempt to hide it as he stared at the other’s endowments. “Now for the real question. What do I have to get you to do more than admire?”

With an easy snap of his fingers a coffee appeared on a nearby table. “Done.”

“Thank you,” he said with a soft hum. “It’s always nice when big guys chose not to throw their weight around.”

“No, I promise you you’re not interested in my sob story,” he said with a soft laugh.

“I’ve always wanted to be that sort of person,” he said with some delay before shaking his head. “Ah.. I’m getting caught up in my thoughts, forgive me.”

“So are you one of those guys that like to take charge then? Or am I misreading you?”

“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to come off as disingenuous.”
