We discussed that the empathy map with have animation, we also made some decisions on roles for the project. The editing process of the video footage has begun.

I learned today that Existentialism is a based on philosophy beliefs that we all have a meaning in life.

Existentialism is the belief that we were all born with essence, that gives you a purpose that we were all born to be something.

Essence has a certain core of properties that are necessary, or essential for a thing to be what it is, e.g - A knife is not a knife unless it has a blade, the blade is the essential property defining its function.

Existence proceeds essence, we write our own essence in the way we choose to live, we make our own decisions there is no set path to follow.

Today we made a focus group to discuss our group challenge for College Transition . The information we collected will be very helpful to use in our challenge.

Haig was the negotiator, Becca took the notes, myself and Alex answered the questions.

The empathy map information will be very useful for our college transition video.

Dr Jennifer M Jones of the Service Design Academy gave us a talk on her experience of service design, she asked us to think of a bad experience that we have had with a past service, which I couldn’t think of anything at the time but it made me think of some good services that work for me.

The service I use a lot is the train app and the bus app, I can find the time of my train and what platform the train is arriving at before I have entered the station. The bus app is great too I just buy my tickets in advance and show my ticket on my phone to the driver this saves having to carry change for every journey to university.

Service design concept makes the experience better for the user when using services, with using empathy in designing around the user needs.
