"I May Be Alone, but That Won't Bring Me Down!"

Like a shining star she soared across the sky in a flash of blinding light! Her entire body wreathed in a bright violet energy that left a sparkling trail behind her! She rolled mid air letting her troubles go and just enjoying the freedom of of flight for the moment at least she had no worries, no threats and her only thought was the wind in her face and the freedom it brought when she was airborne like this. Despite it only lasting a fraction of a moment in this moment she felt more free then she ever had in her life. If only she could sustain it—if only she could fly for real she thought to herself.

She burst through the foliage into the valley below, and came face to face with a huge problem! Someone was directly in her line of travel, and she hadn’t expected someone to be so far out here! She had a split second to change her direction shifting to the side and blitzing past him fast enough to cause leaves and debris to pelt the poor soul— she had other issues however!

Namely the massive tree that directly in her path, she managed to turn herself enough to only graze the side of the tree, which sent her spinning off to one side and CRASHING into a nearby bush! with a thump!

Days like these she should just not get out of bad she told herself as she popped her head out of the bush and tugged a branch out of her hair. Some Hero she was— crashing into a bush! At least Carol wasn’t here to make light of her situation!

She didn’t say much initially just watching Carol from here, watching her greet her friends from across the multi-verse. It was strange to think so many knew her from so many different worlds. But did they really know her? There were things about her they would never know, aspects of her life she and carol both sought to leave in the past. It was nice though, seeing her so happy. She finally looked over at the strange dragon and smiled warmly as she could muster despite her current mood being anything but cheerful.

“ she sure knows how to make an entrance that’s for sure… Carol’s always been that way though. She loves being bombastic and as flashy as she can… it’s one of her better qualities if i’m honest. though mark my words, she’ll find some way to top it eventually… ”

Lilac made her way around the reception area, now that her congratulation’s were said she was free to distract herself with drinks, and food. She grabbed a Glass of Champaign from the tray and some dragon fruit for obvious reasons. Carol use to tease her about it being a dragon’s favorite food. She rolled her eyes at the thought of it—she just liked it! She didn’t feel like eating, in fact had she eaten much of anything since a day ago? Her appetite must be shot with her emotions being all crazy. She’d eat something later she told herself and munched on that little bit of fruit.

Watching the people gathered around Carol and Sonar it made her smile if only a bit. She had so many wonderful friends, so many wonderful people that loved her. By proxy they loved Sonar to. It was a wonderful gathering a wonderful day on this her special day. She envied her, she had everything and here she was feeling depressed about all of it. She hated herself for it, hated that feeling even after there talk—there was alot she had to get through on her own.

“ Just enjoy the moment Lilac… ”

She told herself as she took a drink from the glass, bubbly— what a way to celebrate.

“Some night, huh?” A voice asked. Standing there, was Drake... who seemingly appeared out of nowhere, holding a large plate of food... scratch that, two plates of food, in both hands and a glass of bubbly that was... levitating beside him.

“What can I say, I like my entrances flashy~.

"Thanks a bunch, dude. I appreciate it, I really really do.”

And, honestly? Honestly?

A part of her was glad it was all over.

She sighed the biggest sigh of relief she could ever do.

“Man, you have… no idea how much I stressed about a lotta this stuff.”

Oh hey it’s that weird dragon guy!

She’s still not dressed up even a little–still holding her dress in her arms like she’s a waiter holding towels or something. Corazon’s still tailing behind her, trying to make sure that her little baby sis’ day is going as swimmingly as it can be before the whole thing actually starts.

So, the wildcat waves as well, giving him a smirk.

“Yeaaaah, I’m surprised too, gonna be honest.” She gives a look over to Cory, who just gives a toothy grin. Carol just shook her head, giving her full attention back to the dragon, “Sorry for uh… everythin’ bein’ a little last minute. It’s my first time plannin’ a weddin’!” And hopefully it’ll be her last time, as well.

“She’s allergic to asking for help.”

“Please ignore my sister. Jus’ pretend like she’s not even there.”

“Ah, don’t worry about it. Really, this is probably the first wedding I ever attended, specially for being on short notice.” He laughed. “And sorry if I am not really dressed for occasion, but I dunno where I would be able to find something that is my size on short notice... and the lack of having two extra guests with me.” He added, placing his hands in his pockets. He was pretty chill, all things considered.

Still, it was surprising to even  be invited and he didn’t even know Carol all to well outside the  initial encounter when he first arrived in Avalice, but he hoped that  could change when he finds time to just talk with her more, since she is  likely going to be in better mood.

It was a good thing  he overheard that the wedding was taking place at the Palace, or he  would not been here already and probably wandering around trying to find  the venue. Of course, he would’ve likely tried texting Carol to ask,  still wondering how she got her number, but it worked out in the end.

He was curious as to see who were all attending this wedding as well, and wondered if anyone from Mobius was invited as well.

At  the same time, Drake would take the time to reflect on the past year  and all that has occurred since then, and boy it has been an eventful  one, and wonder what the new year will be like and if it will be just as  crazy and wild as this past year.

Time will tell moving forward...

Wait–what??? That weird dragon guy??? He didn’t even look like a dragon–he looked like a mobian in cosplay, what–

She looked up at Cory again.

“How did ya get his number?”

“A mercenary never kisses and tells~.”

Stupid cryptic bullshit. Whatever.

A buzz is heard when a response is received. Damn, he can text fast. AnEnlightenedDrake: I look forward to it! Think this is the first wedding I ever attended, tbh.

The location was somewhere on Avalice. He's like, already there--he could probably make it, right?

Sure, their first meeting wasn't the greatest, but...!

Drake checked his phone, upon hearing it buzz and saw it was from... Carol?

How the-- he never gave her his phone number, so how did she find out? Nevermind, the fact it was a wedding invite surprised him as he didn't even know she was getting married to begin with.

Also, he had no idea that he would even be invited as the two only conversed once, when he first arrived, and doesn't even know a whole lot about her, outside of her being regarded as a hero to the planet and the Battlesphere Champion, but nothing much else.

He takes a moment to ponder over it. The fact it was on New Year's Day seemed rather nice, and it isn't often he goes to a wedding as... well he didn't really meet a lot of people that were engaged or knew them long enough to be considered a friend to be invited, but who was he to decline? He would start texting back.

AnEnlightenedDrake: Okay, first off: congratulations on your engagement. AnEnlightenedDrake: Second, I am obviously touched that you would send me an invite my way, despite us not really knowing one another and only had the brief encounter when I first arrived to Avalice, so thank you. AnEnlightenedDrake: Third, I would ask how you got my number, but I can let that slide.

AnEnlightenedDrake: I shall be there New Year's Day.

In terms of bring two other guests, that maybe a bit... hard, as nobody knew he even knows he ventured here. Considering how on short notice this all is, he likely wouldn't have enough time to find two others to bring with him.
