That you have intrinsic value that cannot be taken from you. There are those that would prefer to identify you as a member of this or that group and judge you based on that group identity. They would say that you are guilty or innocent depending on your group, that you are an oppressor or have been oppressed based on your group identity. That you are responsible for the actions of your ancestors or of others that look like you. But I believe that you can’t judge a person’s life by what they look like and that the best way to treat people is as individuals. You are responsible for your life and your choices and the best way to improve the world is to make good choices in your own life. I really believe that. We all know deep down that there are plenty of problems we should fix in our own lives to set things right. Upcoming project! Some of you might be surprised to learn that I was actually a cheerleader 📣 (or stunt man as we referred to ourselves) in high school. My favorite part was stunting, where you throw the girls up and the would stand on your hands in the air. My wrists got pretty messed up and I sprained my thumb a few times and chipped a tooth once when catching someone. All in all it was an awesome experience. This sculpture will be finished and cast in resin, then I would like to put tiny magnets in the base, the hands and feet of the male, and in the hands of the female so that they will all stick together magnetically! Plus they should be able to stick to any surface that is magnetic. If the project is popular enough I’d like to do more of these with different poses. Eye 👁! Here’s another facial feature diagram that shows the forms I’m thinking about when sculpting the eye. The red shoes the bony feature that you can feel on the upper outside part of your eye socket. The green line shows the thickness of the eyelid which is very important in sculpture. Better for the eyelid to be a little too thick then too thin. Most beginners err on the side of too thin and it makes the eyelids look flat. The blue lines show some other plane changes and outlines around the eye that are important to pay attention to when sculpting. Do these diagrams help you? Comment below.
