The article written in a way that makes it clear this is meant to be deeply horrifying but all I can think is “yeah that probably happens all the time but most people don’t have 2:1 care so it never gets spotted or recorded properly”.

Just last month I asked for flavoured water (in the fridge but I didn’t think to specify) and was given bubble mixture (admittedly in an old flavoured water bottle without the label but under the desk, next to the bubble machine I take to Pride). I was thirsty and took two big slurps through a straw so there was no smell to give it away until it was too late and I threw up shortly after (for anyone curious there were bubbles). This carer is genuinely lovely if chronically short on common sense, but I feel safe with him in general.

And a few years ago a carer mixed up my meds and tried giving me 8x the dose of one of my meds over 24hrs. I noticed after only taking twice the prescribed dose and didn’t become seriously ill (I looked it up and if I’d taken all the doses then the mistake could have been fatal). I also found out later that the mistake wasn’t formally recorded anywhere so never officially happened. (This person no longer works in care, no one else is at risk).

I had my grandma get OD’d by her care team because of an administrative error. It even got documented because the handoff wasn’t done right so both teams recorded giving her her meds.

Tldr Amnesty International, global human rights organisation, published a report called 'A growing threat: the anti-rights movement in the UK'. In it is detailed, amongst others, a whole bunch of transphobic groups and organisations, including Beira's Place, JK Rowling's trans exclusionary sexual violence support service. JK Rowling threw a shit fit and got Amnesty to take the report down by threatening libel. This was obviously not enough, because you can't appease a fascist, so now she's going to bankroll a bunch of lawsuits anyway through the JK Rowling Women's Fund.*

However, medically there is a noticeable difference between a female and male sex and that difference has killed a lot of women (and trans people) because the medical standard is the male body and any deviations can mean the difference between correct treatment and death.

A big thin I remember is men die of breast and male cancers because they think breast cancer only affects women and never get checked out or get checked too late. Women die of heart attacks more often because the presentation for women is “atypical” for men. They don’t get the same signs.

My mom described her transient heart attack as “the worst panic attack of my life”. She didn’t realize it was her body trying to tell her she was dying. Thankfully she survived it, but if it had been a full heart attack she would very likely have died when I was a teenager.

There’s also medically racial differences with people of African descent having differences of medical needs to those of European descent and both having differences to Asian, with all three being different from Latino, etc. The exception being people with red hair or the gene for it being ridiculously difficult to sedate or anesthetize regardless of race.

Based on what I’ve seen Asians are sensitive to medications and prone to hyper tension, white people are prone to Crohn’s disease and rheumatic issues, African descent are more likely to develop GI cancers, and (the odd ones out) redheads can’t be sedated easily. Idr what issues medically Latinos or others have. My demographics lean heavily towards the 3 I mentioned.

Other definitions also include:

This statement is not true.

While Charlie Kirk was indeed a victim of gun violence (he was fatally shot during a public event on September 10, 2025), he did not support gun violence itself. He was a vocal advocate for gun rights and the Second Amendment, viewing some gun deaths as an unfortunate but acceptable cost for preserving those rights, and he promoted arming more people (e.g., in schools) as a way to reduce violence through deterrence and protection. I was never allowed to have blue. Blue wasn’t a girl color. Pink and pink-ish and off-pink were my only options. Blue was never part of the equation, but green and purple was tolerated so I had a lot of green and purple.

I hated it.

Now im an adult and i have so much blue in my wardrobe and my accessories. I’m so glad that now people have more chances to choose the color that they love regardless of whoever is around them.

I still remember being told that I’m not allowed blue because that color Belongs to boys.

When I have kids I don’t care how ugly their favorite color is or isn’t. They’re getting the color they love. They’re getting the toys they want (within reason and age appropriateness) and an arbitrary gender divide won’t have a seat at my table
