Anders Malmberg , painter born in 1983 in Stockholm Sweden. He is a selftaught painter with a feel for creating in the now. He has been active on the scene since 2009. After graduating from a preparatory artschool in 2005 he decided to take a long break from painting. For four years he made alot of music instead. Recording artists, learning the craft of beatmaking, mixing and building a homestudio. In 2009 a friend bought him a canvas and paint as a birthday gift. As soon as the first painting was done there was no stopping him. This was the same time as his first trip to NY where he had a once in a lifetime experience - meeting a close friend and fellow artist. The trip to NY and recent reignition of his passion resulted in a utter explosion. “ Think I had like 5 solo shows that coming year” He describe his style as spontaneous and “in the now”. Its rich in colour and texture and often plays around with contrasts in material and idea. A main characteristic for Anders Malmbergs work is the use of recycled material – Doors, found plywood, manikins, window framing and steel roofing. Sometimes its figurative and straightforward and then other times its a order of chaotic paint. “ I love to diversify and always try to renew myself ” Mixed media seems to be his thing – Laquer, spraypaint, acrylic, markers, pastel and pasted on objects. "With my art I strive to find that hidden dynamic! When you by mistake drip paint on a part thats already finished. When you by accident find a picture that you had forgotten about and then decide to paint it. I make quick decisions regarding work and then follow through. The last couple of years Ive managed to learn how to alter it and guide it to whatever I feel like creating! Its a force that takes over, and when I start i cant stop! This is my passion! I love to create in the now!" AM
