i used to always render myself in kinda silly, caricaturized ways, but over the past six months, i've grown more and more comfortable in my own skin and can actually draw out all my flaws and wrinkles and bedraggled hair and still find myself preening in the mirror. i haven't felt better about myself in my life.
i've been wearing a new accessory, too: a dog collar. the person who inspired me to wear it and a few others (i'm slowly building a collection) likes to maintain their privacy and i like to respect it, but their impact has been pretty significant on my life, so it's a nice little reminder of who helped me find the confidence waiting inside myself.
