current mantra
Exactly.
Recently had to talk to someone who had perfection paralysis (or, in the words of Adam Savage, hamstrung by possibilities).
I've been doing artistic work for myself and others for nearly two decades now so here's my advice.
It'll never be perfect. And even if it *is*, you will come to nitpick and dislike things about it in time. You have to learn to sit with that discomfort, know that everything is flawed, and that artistic growth is an infinite path. So do the thing.
remember that sasuke figurine that could hold up like literally fucking anythign
And my personal favorite

have been losing my shit over the fact that 1. there's a passage in polybius's history where he tells us that the tyrant demetrius of phalerum once made a giant mechanical snail to parade through athens and trail slime everywhere 2. people have been trying to figure out how this massive snail worked since at least 1937
Item: giant mechanical snail commissioned by the local ruler to parade around town and leave a trail of slime

A short comic I made about my experiences as a seasonal worker, and the way places change you.

May I present to you Wheel Running In the Wild, a published research paper that delights me to no end:
This paper intended to test whether would mice would run on a wheel if they found one, to try and determine if this was a natural behavior or a stress response in captivity. They put a wheel in a protected little box with a camera that took pictures any time the wheel turned, and tallied up how often it was used by what.
Mice were, happily, the most common users of the wheel, and their patterns of use indicated they were doing so voluntarily once they figured it out.
But the second most common users.
Those were slugs.
