Final Session Project Grow
Thursday, May 28 Today, the Service Design team presented the final session of the Project Grow. It was clearly for all the team members a sense of having a good experience working with the board of directors of the Ralph Mark Gibert Civil Rights Museum.
The session started with a presentation of the interaction and graphic design teams works about a website development for the RMG. It was 4 groups and four different website concepts where the board of directors could chose from. All of them have in common the highlighting the relevance of the museum and its history as a marketing plataform.
Moving forward to the Service Design team presentation we first presented a overview video detailing all our co-creations, highlighting context, the museums expectations as well as our defined solutions. A really inspirational video that represents the project process development itself. Next to it, the respective team presented the affinitized solutions we have been working on, upon previous research as developed further in the Co-creation 1 within the discovering process, and in the Co-creation 2 within the brainstorming of new ideas and establishing framed problems and in the Co-creation 3 outlined a good mental picture of the future service concepts. The solutions were divided into three categories, including: Layout, Tour and Events and Awareness. For layout, we propose a more organized timeline of the exhibits. The first floor would be a reception area, the basement would feature slavery, the second floor would have the Jim Crow era, and the third floor would feature an inspiration room where guests can leave comments about their experience. The interactive tours are aimed for school tours that take place throughout the year. We propose to have a Scavenger Hunt tour, a Trivia tour, and a coffee shop inside the museum to function as a waiting area for the groups. Finally, to integrate the museum into the community more, we suggest that the museum host a pre and after MLK parade events, have weekly screenings of movies/documentaries, and host an annual music and art festival.
Also, embbeded into the final presention the team presented a value proposition of each concept, plan of implementation as well as prototyping, such as storyboard and dekstop walkthrough. In fact all this elements can ensure properly a solid strategic plan for the museum in short and long term. These implementations will essentially support customer base within tourists and local community, transform museum into civil rights informational hub, increase revenue and traffic as well as help raise more funds for future events. Our feeling is about work done, by the way, a work well done that is very representative whether for the students carrier growth and for the museum. A special thank you for the meaningful collaboration by all the board of directors as well as all the team members of this amazing project!
See you soon! Project Grow Team.
