Over the past weekend he made multiple threats on twitter telling everyone what he was going to do. But the faculty at my school did little to acknowledge it until they realized classes were empty because we were all to afraid to come to school.

So a person who disrespects the law and actively demonstrates why prohibition laws do not work thinks that prohibition laws will somehow magically start working when applied to guns and violent criminals will magically start respecting gun control laws.

There was a shooting in Washington DC today. Not a ton of the details are super clear, but from what I read a police officer was shot on capitol hill.

I could go on a whole rant about gun control in America but honestly at this point what could I say that hasn’t already been said. Instead I’ll just share a short anecdote surrounding when I first heard about the shooting.

I was at work and a co worked asked me if I heard about the Washington shooting. I said no and proceeded to google ‘capitol hill shooting’. And this is where the story takes its sad turn. Google didn’t know which capitol hill shooting I was talking about. It came up with articles talking about 3 different shootings in 2013, 2006 and 1998. So I tried again. ‘Washington shooting’. You guessed it, articles about a whole bunch of Seattle shootings came up.

Rest of the world “Guys you maybe want to ban guns at some point”

Americans “FREEDOM”

Rest of the world “You’re just going to let bad guys with guns kill everyone”

America “I think, realistically, we can get rid of all the bad guys ever, lets be sensible about this, we can keep guns”

> Ignores the fact that countries all across the globe, even ones with strict gun control, all suffer from public massacres and mass murder.

> Ignores the fact that Australia still has gun violence, mass shootings, and even had an active shooter literally yesterday.

> That’s funny I live in England and just yesterday I remember NOT having any mass shootings in fact everyday of my life I can recall the massacres that NEVER HAPPENED

>Australia had 13 massacres in 18 years, culminating in a horrendous attack at Port Arthur, since its CONSERVATIVE government implemented gun control, it’s had none in almost twenty years

But no, we should make sure everyone can buy guns, because there is no evidence (Apart from Australia, your own example) that it works, because if we couldn’t stop every gun crime ever, there is no point stopping just most of them

It’s one. One legal gun store in the entire country. Yet, criminals seem to have zero problem whatsoever finding guns. It’s almost like gun control and prohibition don’t work.

You also ignorantly choose to ignore that problems like drug trade, gang violence, and poverty are also social issues in America. Gang violence makes up half of our country’s homicide rate while mass shootings account for less than even a quarter of 1% of our murder rate. 0.2% to be more exact.

If you don’t remember any public acts of violence and murder in England, then your memory is pretty shit, mate. So you not remember extremists beheading people in the street while civilians were forced to just sit and watch until people with guns showed up? Wasn’t that fun?

If you truly believe that The UK is some violence free utopia as a direct result of their gun laws, then you have your head further up your ass then I originally could have guessed.

Ah, yes. And then we come to Australia. Australia most certainly has had mass shootings since 1996. Hectorville Seige and The Hunt Family Murders are just two examples of numerous. Hell, as I stated before, just two days ago they had an active shooter.
