Anakin Trash

hiya! I’ll be working on some new imagines hopefully later in the week and I’ve already received some requests since I returned although I would love to know what else you want to see! my writing will be fairly slow as I’m in college now and therefore have to prioritise my time however I do miss writing for Anakin and genuinely want to stick around for a while.

A/N: Soooo surprise! I’ve been completely MIA for 3 years, cool. I’m back though, at least for now because I saw TROS recently so naturally my love for Anakin returned and I got a sudden burst of motivation to write some imagines. This one was based on a request I had in my inbox from some prompts I reblogged ages ago, I’m not sure how old the request was although I used it as a way to sort of dip my toes back in the water as it’s been a long time since I’ve written an imagine so I apologise if it isn’t the greatest! I may do a part two if it’s wanted, but feel free to request new ideas for imagines as well! I’ll do my best to get to them, hopefully better than last time haha.

Wrapped tightly in Anakin’s arms and comforted by your forbidden lover’s embrace, you held onto him for dear life as you felt tears begin to slide down your cheeks and onto the warm skin of his neck where your head was nestled. “Are you crying?” He asked after a moment, no doubt feeling the wet droplets fall upon his skin before he pulled away just slightly to allow himself a glance at your face. His own voice was strained and there was a look in his eyes that you just couldn’t read — which was strange, given how well you knew Anakin. Still, you swallowed back more tears as you nodded lightly, confirming the inevitable.

You knew you should be out there, fighting alongside your comrades. Alongside Anakin. The best of you told you that was what was right, though Anakin told you otherwise. ‘You must stay here, where you are safe’, he had said just moments before. Any other time you wouldn’t have listened. Not when there was a full blown war raging just outside your window, where you could see smoke pouring from the Jedi Temple from where the two of you currently stood on the balcony of your shared apartment. You were a Jedi too — it was your duty to standby and protect all that you were. But there had been a certain desperation to the tone of his voice, almost as though he knew something that you didn’t. You wanted to question it but for some reason you didn’t, too relieved that he had returned to you in this moment whilst also worrying about whether or not he would return again following his visit to the Mustafar system where he’d said he was going in order to end the war.

“I can’t let you do this.” You told him with a shake of your head, your hands reaching up to embrace either side of his face. “At least let me come with you, it doesn’t feel right for you to go alone. Please, Anakin. I can’t just do nothing.”

Taking both of your hands away from his face and into his own, he squeezed them gently before bringing them to his lips where he kissed them gently. “You must, Y/N. The Chancellor has given me a very important mission and I must carry it through myself. Besides, I know how skilled of a Jedi you are but I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if anything happened to you.”

Dropping your head to avoid looking him in the eyes, you only nodded reluctantly. It was true that this mission had been given to him by Chancellor Palpatine whom had always had quite a close relationship with Anakin and you were sure that was the reason why he had given it to Anakin alone. Still, you yourself had always been suspicious of the Chancellor for reasons you couldn’t quite explain and so you couldn’t help but feel uneasy. Though Anakin trusted him and you trusted Anakin with all you had, that being enough for you to swallow your pride and take his word.

“Have faith, my love. Soon everything will be set right.” He spoke softly, raising his flesh hand to gently brush a stray strand of your hair behind your ear. “Wait for me until I return. Things will be different, I promise.” His voice held sincerity as did his expression as he looked down upon you reassuringly and once again you could only nod, not trusting your words in that moment. There was a pit in your stomach, making you feel anxious and on edge and oddly enough Anakin’s words didn’t seem to ease the feeling. Something was wrong, you just weren’t yet sure of what exactly it was. You had no idea of the true meaning behind Anakin’s words, of just how different things would be. You had no idea that he was behind the attacks on the Jedi Temple, that he had killed younglings and Jedi alike. That he had turned to the Dark Side, just as he did in a dream you once had long ago of Anakin where all you could see of him were the yellow of his eyes behind a dark cloak. You didn’t know any of this, not yet.
