COC Kranj 2.7.2016
Here are a few photos from Saturday from Kranj. It was absolutely amazing, all boys did great and i think they’re quite satisfied with the new skis. (all photos are mine)

It’s Freitag! 😂 <3
The Norwegian ski jumping team opens up about long kept secrets. (I’m sure you all already know, but I’m gonna say it anyway, to avoid misunderstandings: While there certainly are real cases of extreme diets and underweight among ski jumpers, this video is not to be taken seriously. It is comedy.)
A few notes on the translation/subtitles:
I added a few word explainations, because I know that just like me, many of you are not native English speakers, and might not be familiar with English ski jumping terminology (either).
I’m not sure if that is an actual valid term or not, but “ski jumping community” refers to all the professional people involved in ski jumping: the athletes, their coaches and doctors, etc. I just couldn’t think of a better word.
I’m not a professional translator (obviously), and I apologize for any mistakes and awkwardness in my translation.

I’m still impressed

Winners of individual competitions, season 15/16.
INTERESTING/FUN FACTS I LEARNED FROM READING THE PETER PREVC BOOK:
-Peter feels bad giving his family and friends free tickets to competitions while other spectators have to buy them, so he personally pays for them.
-At the age of 13 Peter said that in 5 years he wants to be an Olympic and world champion.
-Domen and Cene are altar boys.
-Peter has never sought advice from Primož Peterka and the two »don’t really go for coffee together«.
-When younger, Peter didn’t show much stability and had average results. He wasn’t even picked as a potential member of the ski jumping team for the Sochi Olympic Games. His style was quite aggressive, once in Ljubno he fell on his head and needed stitches.
-In school, he preferred subjects on economics and entrepreneurship. He was often absent from school and did tests via emails. Once during a long distance maths test he was especially irritated by his roommate and fellow ski jumper Mitja Mežnar.
-In 2011, Pero reached his first team podium by having one of the worst results (the only jumper who jumped less than him was a Kazakh).
-Peter’s coach Jani Grilc said that at the beginning Pero didn’t have a promising technique. He jumped too forcefully, using his body instead of his legs. By the age of 16 Grilc changed his technique and now Peter’s and Domen’s style of jumping is considered “the technique of the future”.
-Peter’s superiority comes from his “soft joints” (i.e. ankles, knees and hips).
-Peter’s mother Julijana is a librarian who wrote an article about ski jumping hills around their home valley.
-Peter’s father has a ski jumping record of 23.5 m.
-Peter’s youngest sister Ema is not interested in ski jumping.
-Domen is extremely interested in science. He constantly reads National Geographic and other scientific magazines.
-Julijana Prevc’s birth house is locally called “At the Eagle’s”.
-Goran Janus likes carp fishing.
-One of Janus’ techniques of motivating Peter is picking on him and making fun of him.
-Johan Remen Revensen correctly predicted Anders Fannemel’s world record.
-Peter doesn’t like being called “Mišica” (The Muscle).
-Peter had a cold while jumping and winning at Bergisel this year.
-In 4 years Peter improved his personal best by 100 m.
-After his 244 m long jump in Kulm this year, Miran Tepeš described Peter as being fearless and showing no self-preservation instinct.
I think that’s it. If anyone else has read the book and remembers something else, feel free to add stuff :))
