rosamaria--lopezâ:
Before Ana, Rosa was afraid of spending the holidays alone. After her motherâs passing and being disowned by her stepfather and siblings, she knew Christmas was going to be different; no big parties and fancy dinners and expensive gifts, but at least she had beautiful, smart Ana. She felt like a schoolgirl again, having a silly crush on an upperclassmen who may or may not even like girls, but she couldnât help but be wooed by the older woman â so much so she brought her a gift. She didnât expect her to return the favor, but she couldnât show up empty handed either, not after how good she had been to her. Ana could have easily told her to piss off, but instead she took her in on her secret heists and now they were at a bloody Christmas party together. Rosa couldnât help but blush at the thought.Â
She had spent the days after their last meeting looking through her shopâs items meticulously, trying to find something perfect for Ana. It was a lot harder than she imagined, which was saying something as she almost always knew what to gift someone, but Ana was important to her. Her gloved hands held the velvet box tightly, she was starting to wonder if she should just shove it in her pocket and forget about it, but as she fought herself she found that she was already face to face with the brunette, her cheeks red. She smiled at Anaâs words, she was reminded of the fairs and carnivals she had went to as a kid. âIf there are quidditch hoops Iâm sure there will be something like that around.âÂ
Rosa bit her lip, not sure how to start this interaction or if she was going to make things awkward by doing so, but before she could think about it further she stopped walking, putting her hand on Anaâs shoulder lightly. âHey, I⌠I got you something â you know, for the holidays.â She put out her other hand, offering her the velvet box she had been holding. Inside was a necklace, a double pointed obsidian charm hanging from a silver chain. The muggles say obsidian shields the wearer from negativity and help with psychic abilities, but Rosa picked it out because she believed it was the most Ana crystal she had in the shop. She looked up at the older woman through her eyelashes, trying to decide if she liked it or not â or if she completely fucked everything up.
Ana had not been expecting a gift. That was the last thing on her mind so when Rosa offered the velvet box to her she was a little taken aback. She picked it up suspiciously looking at Rosa and her explanation that is was âfor the holidaysâ. A present. Ana wasnât sure the last time she had received a present. Maybe last year when a bartender gave her a drink âon the houseâ.
She opened the box to see the necklace, a black stone hanging from silver. Ana never normally wore jewellery. Before now she had never seen the need for such luxury, preferring to spend her money on other things. But now that she had money, her first thought wasnât how much she could sell the necklace for.Â
âOh. Thanks.â She wasnât really sure what to say looking at the little box for a moment and glancing up at Rosa. Was this a come on? Ana had basically invited Rosa on a date and with this gift it seemed to solidify that there was something between them but Ana was wary. It was a crush. Rosa was ten years her junior and although perfectly competent, perhaps flighty and fickle. Ana couldnât help but see Rosa as kid. A smart one, who managed to strong arm Ana into working with her but still young and naive.
âI like it, thank you.â She said pulling it from the box and placing it around her neck offering Rosa a smile. â-But, I didnât get you anything. Iâm sorry. I didnât know we were doing gifts.â
