and i would like to revisit jaxs character
because rewatching sort of reminded me of something
yall ready for an history lesson of repressed queers? Alrighty!
Jax is an repressed queer representation who was pushed to the extreme. Luckily the extreme was abuse, both mentally and physically and not uh… cough cough MURDER
An example for this can be Jeffery Dahmer and even Ed Gein (srry if i get any information wrong im an teenage girl who obsesses over queer serial killers not some cia profiler.)
Im gonna talk about my personal favorite and point out some parrales
(this conversation will also have references to murder, boy moms, necrophilia, christianity and icky stuff. Its Ed Gein beware.)
Also i have the mentally that you are either born or nurtured bad. In my opinion Ed was nurtured.
Before i talk about the similarities im just gonna explain why i chose Ed
Ed Gein was an white American murderer and ‘body snatcher’ who grew up in an strict christian farm land. Gein was an very brainwashed child who had an mother who preached that women were sinful devices used by the devil and an father who constantly beat him. Gein idolised and was obsessed with his mother, later stating that he wanted to wear her skin. 🏳️⚧️🤨? Anyway it was the kind of household who dosnt shh away from showing the children the horrors of the world. I believe Ed’s first impression of gore was watching his mother slaughter an pig in the barn (i think he was seven or nine?) which caused him to get an boner, seeing his mother covered in blood that is. His mother, Augusta, horrible fucking woman, isolated her sons and took advantage of the isolation to make them quite dependent on her. Augusta punished Gein if he ever made friends. And his father was an frequent alcoholic who beat both boys to the point that Eds ears would ring. Not the best childhood for an growing boy. As Gein grew his father and many others died around him. Leaving him and his mother. And when his mother died in 1945 at 67 he snapped. He had apparently ‘lost his only friend and true love’. In 1957 an town Deputy was reported that an hardware store owner was missing. Once he checked out the store he would find the cash register open and an pool of blood. Now the cash register was 58 year old Bernice Worden, who as i will describe in profiler lingo, an surrogate. Uou see Eds rage was mainly centred towards his mother and father, sure he loved and obsessed over his mother but he was mad thag she passed and left him. Ed Gein while yes an extreme case and possibly not trans questioning..? (I dunno this is all in my opinion and come on listen to the podcast they thought it too)
But this is more so on all the internalised issues.
Jax is internally homophobic, transphobic and openly mysogenistic. All this is not ‘justified’ but more so ‘explained’ because jax is an Trans woman. Being forced into male stereotypes her whole life jax has unwillingly built an mask to suppress who she really is. Much like an serial killer. Many serial killers and even cult leaders mask who they really are to create an facade that they are, by societies terms ‘normal’! And this is exactly what Jax is doing. Furthermore the part were jax told Ribbit (and the audience) that after telling her mom, her mom laughed at her? That mustve been the trigger. Thats what caused Jax to push her mom. Thats what caused Jax to spiral in the circus. And that is why jax is why jax is. Even though it feels dirty to have the stereotype that Trans-woman abuse cis-woman, i mean stereotypes are here for an reason, no matter how little or big amounts of truth their are in them. A.K.A, Australian ride kangaroos to school! i think this is funny asf but it is still an stereotypes! (im not brave enough to dig into an mean stereotype yet i might make smth on that). Anyway the point is, if you try and avoid every stereotype there is your just gonna have an bland 2D character. Jax is an abuser. Who abuses those shes jealous of. Zooble who is opening trans and gangle who is openly ‘feminine’ (by societys standards). This angers Jax. This makes Jax jealous! And oh lord. I think we have learned from history that repressing anyone, queer or not, is bad. Thats how we end up with ppl like Jeffery Dahmar and Jojo Siwa. Jaxs mental break and way to cope was by abusing Gangle. This made her feel better. It was an coping mechanism. An horrible one. But it was an way to cope.
So uh summary. Jax is built like an repressed queer serial killer. I should be hired by matpat. and uh Ed Gein is trans coded :D (Thats an joke dont take me srsly 😭)
