A small, soft chuckle actually leaves the womanâs lips. She made a mental note to brew him a fresh pot of coffee once she returns, as sheâs certain heâs going to need it. The man could pull this off, of that sheâs sureâBut whether or not heâs going to have the stamina or mental energy to be in high spirits afterwards was another story.
âIf youâre certain, Narumi. Iâll be back soon.â
As promised, she would only be out for about an hour or two, mostly taking a walk and enjoying the first bout of fair weather that theyâve had in a long while, obtaining a few necessities for the office, before finally returning to this place she now called home. From the moment she opened the door, just a single glance to the local modern day manâs hunched posture told her everything she needed to know.
And it made her crack just a little smile, seeing it coupled with the documents heâd completed. No doubt heâd pushed to do it all at once, despite her words of caution. But it was part of why she loved him so much.
ââYou look like you need coffee.â
Even a modern man like himself couldnât handle the hell of paperwork. Ugh, this is why he didnât mind doing the footwork. On the plus side, at least he wouldnât have to worry about doing it much later and he could just ignore whatever new ones comes his way. Maybe heâll be fortunate when business goes back to just slowing down.Â
This is what happens when you go about trying to impress a woman with always stickinâ to your word. No regrets only that he had a headache that is. Speaking of she was back. Heâd quickly fix his posture as he sat up not wanting to be sprawled over his desk as a hand ran back through his hair as he pushed his reading glasses up the bridge of his nose that had been threatening to slip off. A grin mustered in response as he laughed.
âHa--! I could always use coffee, Tess. Donât know what Iâd do without it sometimes.â
Needing coffee was a understatement. Drinking a whole pot sounded mighty appealing right now. Glasses were lifted slightly to pinch the bridge of his nose.
âI tell ya paperwork can definitely wear down a person.â Not him of course, pshh.
