Upgradation of existing Activated Sludge Plant for nitrification

We are pleased to announce the upgradation of 58,000 m3/day existing activated sludge plant to Levapor based IFAS process for achieving both higher flow rates and nitrification. The plant is now fully functional and achieving results of COD< 30 ppm and Ammonia < 1 ppm as per clients requirement.

The key features of the upgradation were:

1. No new civil work and existing civil infrastructure was utilized fully

2. Minimal changes in the existing infrastructure

3. Quick process startup and stabilization within few weeks 

Conventional Activated Sludge process, one of the most widely used technology for the biological wastewater treatment has undergone a long cycle of testing, research, development.

Integrated fixed film activated sludge IFAS process involves adding an attached growth media to an activated sludge tank to facilitate biomass growth media added to the aeration basin. 

 Biological Nutrient Removal (bnr)

 In fact the UF outlet is so good that one can see the shining in treated water. We are able to achieve turbidity as low as 0.14 NTU and ORP much better in positive range.
