Lucemond AU where the dragons can sense soulmates. (But of course the stupid humans can’t)
Aemond chasing Lucerys near Storm’s End. Except they soon realise the dragons are flying parallel to each other but refuse to engage no matter how much Aemond is yelling.
Humans don’t understand what the dragons are saying.
Arrax: Your human is HORRIBLE. Attacking his soulmate?!
Vhagar: I am DISGUSTED. I am all for genocide and burning cities, but I draw the line at domestic abuse.
The dragons land on an island and to the human’s indignation bucks off their riders to the ground.
Vhagar: Now, I want you both to apologise to each other and hug.
Aemond: … YOU FIEND— you bewitched my dragon!
Lucerys: I did no such thing!
Aemond grabs his dagger, only to be pushed to the ground by Vhagar’s nudging. Lucerys tries to grab the dagger himself, only to be snapped at by Arrax.
Arrax and Vhagar: I SAID APOLOGISE!
Lucerys: … I think they won’t let us fight.
Aemond: What is this madness.
Aemond growls in frustration and tries to leave, except now Vhagar is pushing him right into the arms of Lucerys, who is also being pushed forth by Arrax.
Aemond: WHAT IN THE SEVEN IS HAPPENING?!
Lucerys: Qybor… look, let’s just hug so that our dragons will let us go home.
The Lucemonds reluctantly hug, refuse to admit that it was nice, and only then are they allowed to get on their dragons. Aemond doesn’t attack Arrax anymore, he is scared Vhagar would make him bone Lucerys if he tries to escalate.
Lucerys tells Rhaenyra and Daemon about this when he gets back home.
Three weeks later, a VERY reluctant Rhaenyra and Daemon asks to meet with Queen Alicent, they have a wedding they need to plan.
