He nodded, listening, watching the way her eyes softened when she looked at the flowers.
There was still much about her that Jia Chong did not know. He especially realized it then, knowing that there was something more that drew her to the flowers, and not simply their vibrant colors and fragrances. Since he was momentarily free from his duties, he decided to take advantage of the time they had together, no matter how brief.
❛❛ Come with me. ❜❜ Jia Chong proffered his hand. ❛❛ There is something I wish to ask you. ❜❜
Li Wan was surprised at first, enlarged eyes glancing down at his hand. It was a peculiar way to precede a question. Then again, it was a rather crowded and chattery area, so the inquiry must have been important enough that he would need to seek elsewhere to ask.
Even so, Li Wan was capable of following Jia Chong through a crowd, so why would she need to hold onto him? Not that she particularly minded, but her previous observations led her to the conclusion that Jia Chong did not do anything without reason, so she could not help but wonder what the reason could be in this case.
Bashfully, eyes fluttering away from him, Li Wan silently took his hand.
Jia Chong followed her gaze to the stall, looking at the arrangement of flowers. The pungent fragrance of their blatant blooms mixed with the various smells of the market—of food, people, and dry air.
❛❛ I see, ❜❜ he answered. So she liked the flowers there… he made sure to take note of that. ❛❛ I suppose you don’t have a coin today, then. ❜❜
“No, unfortunately. I’m just looking at them today.” Gazing fondly at the flowers for a moment longer, Li Wan recalled loving memories of her father providing her opportunities to earn some money to make her own purchases, when she was younger. Since she married, however, she saw her parent less and less. Though it was a pity, she allowed herself to move on as a member of the Jia clan.
Turning back to Jia Chong, the young woman gave a soft smile as she looked up at him. “I’m sorry, what was it that you needed, my lord?”
At the radiant glow of her smile,Jia Chong could not help the slight upward curve of his own mouth.
❛❛ I was thinking that perhaps youliked this place, ❜❜ he said, catching the nervousness of her laugh. ❛❛ Or am I wrong? ❜❜
“No, you’re not wrong at all.” Giggling timidly, Li Wan glanced over at the stall that was about three rows of crowds away from where they stood, admiring the various colors that filled each box.
“No matter what season it is, this vendor always has all kinds of flowers to sell somehow. Sometimes when I have a coin to spare, I even buy some; otherwise, I just admire them from here.” A brief pause before she bashfully continued, “N-Not that I mean to loiter or anything, honestly!”
Despite the scores of milling bodies separating them, Jia Chong was able to spot Li Wan easily. She stood with her back toward him, and he moved to close the distance between them until he stood directly behind her.
Although she was initially startled by the deep, dark voice looming behind her, Li Wan gave a bright smile after she turned around and saw whom the voice belonged to.
“Ah, Lord Jia Chong! Am I really that predictable?” A nervous chuckle was given.

Alexandrite is an extremely rare gemstone and a fairly modern one as well. It does not share the ancient history and lore of most other gems due to the fact that it was first discovered in the 19th Century. The name Alexandrite comes from the fact that the gemstone was first discovered in the emerald mines near the Tokovaya River in Russia’s Ural Mountains in 1830, on the day of Prince Alexander II of Russia’s birthday. Because the stones appeared green or red, the same colors as Old Imperial Russia’s military colors, the stone became the national stone of tsarist Russia. In time, alexandrite would become one of the most prized gemstones amongst Russian Aristocracy. Alexandrites are also useful for one’s emotional well being, as well as promoting self-esteem and the ability to be appreciative of the world around us.
Rose
Rose means pink or red in a variety of languages and is an ancient symbol of love, beauty and appreciation. The secret message conveyed by the Rose in the Victorian era depended on its color. Red meant "I love you", white meant "I’m worthy of you", or "you are heavenly", orange meant "You’re my secret love", yellow meant "I’m not worthy of your love", pink meant "please believe me" and white and red together meant "We are inseparable". The early Greeks and Romans associated the Rose with Aphrodite, the goddess of love in Greek, or Venus, its name in Roman.

Mostly, she would display the generic signs – reddened cheeks, avoiding their gaze, turn away to hide her embarrassment, etc. Consciously, she would most definitely try to talk to them, to learn more about them and see whether it’s nothing more than a minor infatuation or something bigger and perhaps mutual.

Li Wan doesn’t mind either way. Of course, she would take her partner’s feelings into consideration first about how they would feel holding hands in public.
💙: how would my muse handle seeing their object of affection falling in love with someone else?
Though she might not display it whatsoever, she would be absolutely crushed at first. Even with such extreme emotions bottled up, she ultimately convinces herself that, if they were happier with someone else, she should let them go. (cough Lady Guo for example; do you think her daughters wouldn’t write to her and tell her their dad got remarried? cough)

Yes, yes, and yes. Li Wan is very open to all sorts of possibilities, especially the unseen kinds.
