A glance at the abstract beauty of the plants and trees on the streets of Sydney, Australia

The mirror stage is a theory developed by French Psychologist Jaques Lacan in the 1950's. It is the stage in life when an infant begins to recognise itself as a separate entity from the maternal being, this is recognised as the first trauma that we experience in life. In the video the dough acts as a bridge between mother and daughter, constantly in a state of change and development, showing the conflict between the mother and child relationship and the dual relationship of the imaginary and the real (the ego and the body). The dough is also very similar in many ways to a body; it's form and texture are like flesh, and it could be seen to represent the child's unstable state at this time in life. The Film depicts the traces and marks left behind on my own body after I remove my clothing and underwear. You are invited to watch these beautiful marks are they appear and slowly fade from my skin.

The legendary artist passed away 60 years ago this month.
