Sky High AU Headcanons
Backstory
In this AU, Amethyst is the daughter of a Hero named The Elder who had psychic abilities specifically; telepathy, telekinesis, and empathy. Her mother was normal human who was a great acrobat and contortionist. Unfortunately within months of Amethyst’s birth her mother was capture by the Villain Nightmare. Her father went to save her mother but they were both killed in the battle.
As a final misfortune the infant was found by Nightmare, who as his suggests was able to make a person’s greatest nightmare a reality. She lived with him for the first ten years of her life and was greatly abused by him because he had hated her parents with a passion and he took on Amethyst.
Finally Nightmare was defeated and Amethyst was sent to a orphanage for the children of Heroes, Heroines, and Villains. Even so young it was apparent that she was telekinetic though neither she nor anyone else knows who her parents are because Nightmare took care to erase all record of her as a final show of spite to her parents.
Powers
Amethyst has same powers as her father although she only admits to having telekinesis and does her best to keep her telepathy and empathy hidden. Unlike most children on Supers, her powers first emerged when she was about five and the reason she keeps some of them hidden is because Nightmare took advantage of them to torment her.
She has little control of her powers, particularly her telepathy. On the average day she only picks up snippets of peoples’ surface thoughts but if she touches someone skin to skin then she sees everything in their mind, The exception to this is that if they are telepathic themselves then they could keep her out.
As far as her telekinesis goes she can lift roughly 170lbs an inch off the ground. The lighter the object the higher she can lift it. She can use her powers for limited flight but she can’t do it for very long or far.
Her empathy allows her to sense the emotions of those around her. Most of the time this just gives her a little insight into reading people but if she focuses on a specific person then she can sense more.
She is small and agile, looking about ten even though she’s nearing fifteen. She inherited her mothers flexibility and agility which she uses when she has to fight to keep out of the way of her opponents.
