If your intentions aren’t pure, I do not want you in my life. Not as a friend, not even as an acquaintance. I’m all the way good.
this. exactly. idc how many years of friendship we have, as soon as i get that your intentions are not right, i will walk out. bye gurl

الشفاء قد لا تأتي بسرعة، ولكن سوف يأتي.
“Healing may not come quickly, but it will come.”
what’s going on in india?
hi- i sincerely apologize if this is annoying but i’d really hope to raise awareness on what’s going on in india right now! basically modi has passed 3 new reform laws which makes it extremely difficult for farmers; the backbone of india’s economy; to make money. essentially private companies now buy directly from farmers rather than the government having a set price on crops grown by kisaans (farmers) all year long. thus leading to a significantly lower income. overtime many farmers will go into extreme debts and would be incapable of supporting their families. 65 farmers in punjab have already taken their lives since this bill was passed.
there have been peaceful protests in delhi where many sikhs and punjabis (as well as farmers from other states and religions) are fighting for their livelihood back, however the police brutality that they are currently facing is unfathomable. they are getting shot with water cannons and tear gases for protesting against bills that make it borderline impossible for them to live.
3/4 of punjabs population are farmers, my own immediate and distant family are currently out protesting and are being actively impacted by this.
you can donate to khalsa aid right here! they are providing protesters with food and water!
you can purchase from kisaani.co! all their profits are sent directly to the kisaans in need.
i apologize for such a long post but not enough people are talking about this and i really hope that if you have the means you donate or share the links so it reaches someone who might be able to. thank you :)
Here’s a linktree with more ways to help Punjabi and Sikh farmers and protesters, as well as some educational resources
sometimes i think about how constellations are an entirely man-made construct and don’t actually exhist inherently in nature. i mean, the universe just gave us stars, and we saw art and myths and stories in them. the capacity that humans have for seeing purpose in the incidental makes me realize just how lonely we are on this planet, desperately searching for meaning elsewhere in the universe.
How to remain productive with online classes:
A few tips from a broke neuro-divergent academic
Try and wake up early, and go to bed early too. I’m not saying get up at 5 (unless that’s you’re thing) but sleeping into noon is a productivity blackhole. I go for 8 or 8:30, generally, but that’s just what works for me.
Get dressed for the day. I’m not talking like, jeans and a business casual outfit, but a clean pair of sweatpants, fresh underwear, and a new shirt can really put you in the mood for a new morning.
Have a workspace. Whether it be the kitchen table, a desk, a spot on the floor with a lap desk, have a place that’s dedicated to your work. Have items that signify that workspace too, like your book, planner, laptop, lamp, whatever. It can help you get into the zone, being in that space.
Have a morning drink. I choose earl grey tea with honey and cream, but black coffee, herbal tea, lemon water, whatever works for you is awesome, as long as itll wake you up and start your day.
To do lists. To do lists and to do lists and more to do lists. I have three. One is a post it weekly planner deal (3.99 at a local grocery store). it’s a weekly spread already set up, and if you’re anything like me, its really hard to set up a weekly spread. Then I have an app called Ike. I have a daily to do list I write on that app, and then I have four more to-do lists of what I have to for each specific class.
Spread out your assignments. Don’t overwhelm yourself. If you’re professors are like mine, and have the due date for each module as Sunday at midnight. What I do is spread out all my assignments from Monday to Saturday, and I leave Sunday blank, so anything I didn’t do that week, I finish on Sunday. It works for me, it might work for you.
Have a folder for each class, and a notebook for each class. I hate spending money, I’m broke as hell, sono al verde as the Italians say, but a 0.99 cent folder and a 0.25 cent notebook can do wonders for motivating one to fill them up.
Study with a drink. Tea, water, coffee, whatever, but my go to is generally a warm drink. I cannot study if I’m cold, I get tired and groggy, so warm socks, a robe, and a hot drink really keep me going.
Take breaks. Make time for your hobbies, for something fun. Working without stopping absolutely destroys my motivation, and let me tell you, when I feel like that, an episode of Avatar and a snack gets me right back on the wagon.
Do self check ins. Does your back hurt? Are you sad? Stressed? Do you have to pee? Are you hungry? Never put your homework over your health. You won’t be able to get anything done well anyway if you’ve got those blocks.
Most importantly, get enough sleep. I beg of you. Sleep is so important, and it’s the game changer, at least to me. We as students have such an amazing opportunity to get more sleep than we ever have before during the year. Take advantage of that.

“angels don’t know they’re angels but the devil does.”
— submission #433
My hobbies include reading, writing and doing neither of those things
why are all of those posts with tender quotes about men! shut up about them! what about when virginia woolf wrote "i never seem to run out of tenderness for you" and vita sackville-west said "oh my dear, i can’t ever be clever and stand-offish with you: i love you too much for that. too truly." and girl in red sang "i will follow you home, although my lips are blue and i'm cold" and natasha ngan wrote "she makes me feel reappeared. reimagined. her touch shapes me, draws out the boldness that had been hiding in my core." and oh pep! sang "my baby talks at a mile a minute, she sings like a church with a choir in it" and audre lorde said "there is, for me, no difference between writing a good poem and moving into sunlight against the body of a woman i love."
or when edna st. vincent millay said “someday i shall write a great poem to you, so great that i shall make you famous in history, or dedicate a book to you, or collect a fortune & die & leave it to you” and when sarah waters said “i’ve been missing her for so long, it’s come to seem that wanting anything must be only another way of wanting her” and when margaret mead said “i’m lonely for your arms” and when emily dickinson said “i keep wishing for you, keep shutting up my eyes and looking toward the sky, asking with all my might for you, and yet you do not come. i thought of you, until the world grew rounder than it sometimes is, and I broke several dishes”
oh god, i love women.
We remain so unaware of the power of our words, and utter them without giving them an ounce of thought, little it is that we realise that our actions, words & stupid jokes impact people and influences their beliefs about their own esteem and integrity.
Imagine somebody out there genuinely believes he’s a loser just because of you, because of a joke, a meme, a comment you made just to look cool or funny in-front of your followers, but not everyones born with a thick skin, not everyone can withstand the harsh criticism.
Some are more vulnerable than others and become easily overwhelmed and disappointed in themselves. Your words could be a reason for someone’s heart to shatter, for someone to cry all night long. It can damage & traumatise someone beyond where language can reach & could scar someone for the rest of their lives. We refuse to even countenance the idea that some just have to struggle much more to reach minimum expectations.
We all err, we’re all trying to figure out life, but instead of pouncing on someone’s flawed understanding for a mere giggle, try to make them aware about their flawed understanding not by mocking them but with empathy, favour privacy and advise them, a little introspection into someone’s behaviour can reveal how they’re just staggering along to decide things on a basis of no knowledge.
Did you know everything that you know now all the way along? Knowledge isn’t something we are inherently born with, we all learn by trial and error and while we’re all in this trial of life let’s rectify the errors of one another with love and empathy, the empathy we speak endlessly of but refuse to act upon when it’s required. This single alteration in our intention, let alone our behaviour, could possibly improve a lot of things around us.
Don’t be a reason for someone’s misery or sorrow. Don’t let the belief of superiority of the knowledge or facts that you’ve gathered be stamped all over your existence. Instead, put your knowledge & insight at the service of others and and help each other grow.
The process of growth is a process of cultivation that we consciously & actively choose and while you’re making that choice for yourself, choose the same for everyone else around you too & contribute to each other's accomplishments!

“What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.”

Poems & Words
The feeling of emptiness is the most painful emotion.
