✦ In regards to Alhaitham, while I believe there is evidence he lies on the autism spectrum, I will be shying away from extensive talk on the matter. Although recently informed of my own, I'm not the most knowledgeable. As such, I will simply write him to the best of my ability based on his canon characterization.

✦ In regards to HSR 3.4+, I will be writing Phainon canon-divergent from this point on. I do not agree with the direction story ended up taking starting from the end of this patch. You can refer to this post for the changes.

✦ㅤㅤAfter around 2,000 years spent fighting against the merge with Irontomb and keeping the black tide at bay, on top of essentially dying and coming back to recreate the universe, the man was left EXHAUSTED.   He fell into a deep sleep that lasted for about three weeks in total.   Two of those weeks were spent enveloped in a spherical structure similar to the one seen during his transformation.   ( I'll refer to this as a cocoon ).   This was a natural course of action his body took when he fell unconscious in order to both protect and heal itself.

ㅤㅤThis cocoon is nigh impossible to break through and radiates a scorching heat just like himself.   After two weeks, the cocoon naturally dissipated, but Phainon was still in deep sleep and still ‘ Khaslana. ’   After a third week of sleeping, he had strength and energy enough to both wake and shift back into ‘ Phainon. ’   But his head hurt like hell and fatigue hung over him for roughly another week.

ㅤㅤThis recovery period was extremely rough for him.   Patience was needed and he had to be forced to continue resting.   Even though he was still fatigued, Phainon tried to assist wherever he could get away with it.   His depression was especially bad for a long while after— which he attempted to cover up just as he always had.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ⚬──────────✧──────────⚬

✦ㅤㅤMuch like Fugue, his body is in a constant state of pain.   Whether as ‘ Phainon ’ or ‘ Khaslana, ’ he can feel the permanent marks of destruction across his body.   The only reason that he appears normal and unaffected is simply because he's long grown used to the pain.   Almost numb to it even.   The broken state of ‘ Khaslana's ’ body does leave scars when he exists as ‘ Phainon. ’   No amount of self-healing will erase them.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ⚬──────────✧──────────⚬

✦ㅤㅤHis eyesight was affected by the heat of the coreflames.   He should be wearing glasses, ( or discovering contact lenses ), but he doesn't.   He's gotten far too used to just ‘ dealing with it ’ and can make out enough that his every day life doesn't suffer much.   Small writing and tiny details, however, do pose a challenge.   If you're lucky, you might catch him wearing a pair in his down/alone time.   But he does wear them a lot more in any modern verses— along with contacts.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ⚬──────────✧──────────⚬

✦ㅤㅤBecause the sun and many gods associated with it are also associated with healing, I've decided it makes sense for Phainon to have some healing abilities of his own.   But he didn't always have access to this— they only came in wake of his incomplete ( but very slowly ongoing ) ascension to aeonhood.   In other words, when he was still largely aligned with destruction, his body as ‘ Khaslana ’ could only petrify and break.   But after birthing the path of creation, he gained the passive ability to heal himself.   It's a slow process— as it has to contend with the coreflames taking a toll on him— but it's a process nonetheless !   One day, ‘ Khaslana ’ will radiate a healthy glow with a body of flesh; and scars in place of open wounds.

ㅤㅤThis ability is still active as ‘ Phainon. ’   Injuries and wounds now heal faster and with less chance of scarring.   This isn't to say that he can't scar, it's just harder than leaving one on your average human.   But that was always going to be the case even without this new ability.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ⚬──────────✧──────────⚬

✦ㅤㅤPhainon does have brain damage that was carried over to him from his previous iterations of Flame Reaver.   However, it's practically impossible to distinguish which characteristics are a result of this and which occurred naturally.   Much of it is simply considered  NORMAL  by his own self.   Hormonal imbalances that affected sleep, appetite, and temperature regulation.   The last of which has always been an issue given the heat he naturally radiates as the sun.   Meanwhile, any irregularities in his sleep were already present due to his PTSD and frequent nightmares.

ㅤㅤHe'd already had depression and while the fatigue is new, it also made sense as being normal.   After all, he hadn't been allowed to rest for billions of years.   Finally, any memory issues also made sense to be normal.   His brain had to hold onto and compartmentalize so many memories.   There's already days in which he mixes up one timeline with another, after all.
