12.4.16 // this afternoon when I got home from a very long day of studying at the library.. đ
Iâm working on a post âhow to study for/survive your law school examsâ which will probably be up on my Tumblr within the next couple of days. I will be sharing some tips on how to memorize a lot of information and how to revise/study for law exams.
BUT if youâre not a law student donât worry, you can still use the tips for any other field of study as they are pretty general as well.
Happy studying đ¸

26.06 / my last exam tomorrow, and it canât come soon enough after nearly 6 weeks of them - slightly worried bc stats 2 is my hardest topic, but gonna sweat out lots of past papers today and hope for a nice paper tomorrow u.u
Studying
TWO WEEKS BEFOREÂ
Youâve kinda cut it down to the wire. You have an exam to prepare for and you only have fourteen days to do it. At this point youâve probably started reviewing for the exam in class. You need to determine how well you want to do, if you want a C go for it. You want to be successful and you need to determine what success is for this exam. At this point you have some time, start out by writing a list of topics that will be covered on the exam. Then mark off all the ones you feel proficient in, that leaves you topics that you need to review. Split them up by how many days you have to study. At this point these methods of review will work best:Â
reviewing some chapters out of a study book
videosÂ
old notesÂ
cram sessionsÂ
one practice exam
practice questions
physical flashcards over tricky termsÂ
pre-made quizlet setsÂ
ONE WEEK BEFOREÂ
Youâre really pushing it. Once again you need to decide what successful for you is going to be with this exam. At this point you may be panicking because you waited so long to begin reviewing. Once again write a list of topics that will be on the exam and mark off the ones that you know AND the ones you âsortaâ know. Youâll be left with the nitty-gritty. Divide these topics by the number of days you have to study and get to it. If you donât have that much to study or find yourself with free time (unless youâve studied what youâve wanted to get the grade you want) add some of the topics you were unsure of to your list of âto studyâ. You donât have any time to waste on making notes or mind maps or whatever. At this point in time these methods of review will work the best:Â
reviewing chapters out of a study book for one or two topicsÂ
VIDEOSÂ
cram session
pre-made quizlet sets
practice questions NOT examsÂ
Preparing
THREE DAYS BEFOREÂ
Hopefully this isnât when you began to study for the exam, because I donât know what to tell ya. If youâre already studying here are some tips IÂ recommend to remember tricky bits of information you need to know.Â
Make a set of physical flashcards of the TRICKIEST topics/words you need to know to carry around with you. You can pull them out at any time for a little review session. DO NOT, make a flashcard for everything you need to know.Â
Go through your study book, notes, or whatever with sticky tabs and place them on TRICKY info you must review.Â
Bookmark videos on your phone, laptop, and tablet, that you NEED to watch. Theyâll be there for you whenever you want to review.Â
Have a study session with friends, and share your mnemonics and tricks for remembering tough topics.Â
Get a blank piece of paper. Write down all the topics you had trouble with. Put your notes away and write down all the info you feel you need to know about those topics beside the words. When youâre done put a check beside the ones you got right, and then continue testing yourself with the ones you got wrong until youâre done. Quizlet has a similar feature.Â
ONE DAY BEFOREÂ
Relax, itâs the day before the exam. Now is not the time to start stressing out. Spend no more to 2-3 hours studying. If youâre having trouble relaxing try some of the apps on this masterpost I made. Read a book, watch some TV, most of all, let go of your stress, because at this point youâve accomplished everything you can.Â
Tips
CLOTHINGÂ
If you are familiar with your testing area youâll know how to dress. If not dress like so. Wear layers, if it gets hot you need to be able to take off your sweatshirt or jacket. You need to take the time to decide what type of bottoms to wear. If you get cold easily, donât wear shorts and vise versa if you get hot easily. Wear your most comfortable shoes. If you gain confidence from your outfit, dress up, but still make sure to wear something that you can add if you get cold or take off if you get hot.Â
SLEEPING
Try to get at least eight hours of sleep. Try to get to your exam with thirty minutes to spare if itâs outside of normal school times. Try to wake up an hour before you must depart.Â
EATINGÂ
Eat breakFAST!!! EaaaaTTTTT breakFAsTTT!!!!!! pls! Being hungry in the middle of a three hour exam is by far the worst thing ever. Even if youâre not that hungry, please try to put something decent in your stomach. My mom sat to make sure I ate before every exam I took even though I wasnât hungry then, I was thankful because I never got hungry in the middle of the exam.Â
If you are allowed bring a snack for break. Granola bars are easy and simple. Bring a bottle of water too. They probably wonât permit anything thatâs not water. Try not to drink too much water so youâre not repeatedly getting up to go to the bathroom.
Do not overeat the night before the exam. Stop eating at least one hour before you go to sleep.Â
Today is not the day to start a new routine. If a cup of coffee or tea, usually getâs you going, drink it!!!
SUPPLIESÂ
I know they always say #2, and never say you CANâT use a mechanical pencil, but just bring two wooden pencils and two mechanical pencils. Bring two of the best pens you have. Make sure they are FULL of ink.Â
An eraser, one that doesnât smudge.Â
Tissues, getting up to get some, or waiting to get some from the proctor is the worst.Â
DONâT BRING YOUR PHONE!
A hair tie.Â
One ibuprofen to put in your pocket just in case you feel a headache coming on.Â
Your calculator if required on the exam!Â
I hope these exam tips are helpful!Â

[04/09/16] 2:23PM doing some stoichiometry homework for chemistry. iâm so behind in all my classes because my extracurriculars have been taking up a lot of my time these couple of weeks :(
Looking over some models of stress today,
12 ⢠01 ⢠16 2 / 100 days of productivity I had a long and tiring training today and had little time to spare for actual studying but luckily, I didnât have too much work to do from school so I decided to relax a little tonight and worked on my planner and started a little on Geography flashcards for next weekâs test. Also, Iâm having the Illustrated edition of the first Harry Potter book as my nightly reads to settle into my sleep
